Oh my god, she MURDERED the beam! She went all in, it was scary how fierce she looked. Really really great for her. On a side note, that leo is just *gorgeous*

To everyone saying she should get that individual spot, I hope you're willing to put up with the disappointment when the international judges devalue all her rings and her routine completely falls apart score wise at the olympics
@Marketoromagnolo3 жыл бұрын
it's a pity she was not even in consideration for olympics team, I put her over Mccusker
@wombatnumbat9893 жыл бұрын
McCusker had the highest bars score of the day. Kara didn't have the highest beam score either day; I don't think she has made her case as a beam specialist although her beam is beautiful.

@@wombatnumbat989 Riley only did uneven bars
@wombatnumbat9893 жыл бұрын
@@brodypenn yes, I know. I was comparing them because I think Riley has a better chance to get the specialist spot for bars vs. Kara getting it for beam. :)

Really solid on this night, but the ring elements scare me a bit still. Everyone’s quick to size up Kara against Riley for the specialist spot, but I would have to go with Riley pretty comfortably. Kara’s beam isn’t consistent enough nor does it score high enough to be a medal contender, whereas Riley’s bars could medal. It just wouldn’t make sense to send a beam specialist that just can’t score high enough to contend.

Americans are desperate to naturalize Asian athletes because they know they are the best at balance beams and bars.
@wombatnumbat9893 жыл бұрын
lol. Kara is American. Adopted kids are no less American than ones born in the USA. My son was adopted. I assure you, no one is scooping up Asian and Eastern European babies in hopes of them becoming gymnasts 15 years later. The USA has the deepest field of gymnasts in the world, and they come in all colors and ethnicities. lol
@kate748083 жыл бұрын
@Mike Myers Thanks for making me laugh. No American trained gymnast comes even remotely close to the precision and extension of Chinese trained gymnasts. Regardless of ethnicity. Please feel free to watch the National Chinese beam finals on youtube. No Asian American or other ethnicity American can compare because it's about the training and the teaching of technique.
@wombatnumbat9893 жыл бұрын
@@kate74808 Lol - My point was that American adoptive parents are not trying to snatch up Asian babies because they are inherently good at beam! I was replying to Mike Meyers who said that the USA "is trying to naturalize Asian athletes" which is utterly ridiculous. I have watched the Chinese gymnasts for years and even in person at Worlds and Olympics. I'm well aware of how great they are, especially on beam! And, as you said, they are great due to their training and technique not because they are "Asian." :)
@kate748083 жыл бұрын
@@wombatnumbat989 Haha yeah my reply was directed at Mike Myers not you! Yeah that assumption is absolutely ridiculous especially because in the US participation in gymnastics is voluntary and self funded. I don't think there is one American gymnast who has been trained in another country lol.
