boy did this take forever. I barley had any time to work on it thanks to school and work. I even had to restart 2 times because the file was corrupted twice lol. Some of the tones are off because certain parts in the song are detuned so.... yeah. I also forgot to clean up the actual sheet music when I was done. so, my bad for the weird placement of rest and notation style in general.
Also thank you guys so much for 180 subs, never thought anyone would really want to listen to my arrangements but here we are :)

HOLY FRICK this sounds amazing! So accurate, oh lord. If I had a piano and a vocaloid fan friend who would play that with me, sure thing i would feel like THE cool kid. I've been trying to manualy do a rolling girl cover in an instrument that i can't find the name for, my teacher said it was an okoto, but there's buttons, it's the size of an arm and i play it with a pitch, i dont think it's an okoto, regardless, i can't match the notes correctly. Great job man!

I'm glad you like it, and now I'm very interested in the instrument you described. Do you perhaps know what part of the world it originated from?
@juliasayuri7075
@juliasayuri7075 2 жыл бұрын
@@bosshogg i mean, the teacher said it was an okoto, i suppose Japan or China, since I'm learning it as an extra from a japanese school. I guess it _could_ be an mechanical okoto or something? Even though okoto is basiclly a japanese harp, i guess there could be a mechanical version? Idk lol
@bosshogg
@bosshogg 2 жыл бұрын
@@juliasayuri7075 The only thing that comes to mind when you say "Japanese harp" is the Koto which is a plucked half-tube zither instrument. I've never heard of a mechanical Koto before though so... I'm stumped. unless we're talking about the same thing just spelled differently >_

@@bosshogg ok so, the name for it is Taishogoto (to be fair, it's a similar name and my teacher says okoto for short, or i misheard her too lol). It seems pretty unknown, never seen anyone else play it. It's pretty curious tho, example: right hand holding the pitch, left one with the notes, but you can't play with your pinky, it's kinda annoying because the jump between notes are a little too far away so my thumb after practice looks a little weird, like a part of the finger is pushed to the back, like a triangle (?)
@bosshogg
@bosshogg 2 жыл бұрын
@@juliasayuri7075 you're right about it being unknown, I've never heard of it before. The timbre of it is very unique almost like a Harp mixed with a shamisen. Hearing it now I can definitely say I've heard it before in music but thought it was a completely different instrument lol.

Not bad, you listened precisely and wrote down pretty detailed. Good Music. Arrangement-wise, here are things to improve on, please take it constructively: 1. The whole piece is in F (harmonic) minor until around 5:40, use 4 b's (later: F# h.m. => 3 #'s) as a key signature for readability. Find out the key before doing anything else, and you will yourself get a better overview over the piece 2. You frequently give the upper piano the task to play the same note at the same time with both hands, either split it up between the players, use another octave or play it once. 3. The hands are sometimes flipped, as the second line is higher than the first. At 2:30, you would play the notes of the first player differently instead of crossing both hands, and one hand cant span two octaves. 4. Some bars (like 0:59-1:00) need a bit cleanup 5. You mixed the use of 8th and 16th pauses after each other with dotted 8th pauses, which can be confusing if both are used in the same way. 6. At chromatic walks like e.g. 0:28, you should use only b's when walking downwards and only #'s when walking upwards for more clarity and so the next note doesnt need an extra natural sign 7. 32ths, especially as tremolo, in this tempo will be probably too hard to actually play, but can surely be used as an effect on computer playback, so it depends on your intention Good luck on future arranging! If you want to talk a bit more, we can DM.

I'm gonna be honest, a lot the mistakes made were made because I was too lazy to fix them 😅. That being said thank you so much for the advice, I will definitely keep all that in mind for my future arrangements. I have an especially hard time figuring out what key a song is in. I honestly have no idea how to tell, if you could tell me anything that would help me with that I would be very grateful :)

@@bosshogg If the music is diatonic (that means, there is a key signature so that the scale has no accidentals. Includes major, natural minor, dorian,..., But not the other minor types!), trial and error can be enough already, and sped up by knowing your scales. Just watch out for the half/whole step pattern. Finding the root will be even more useful. Watch out for an often played chord/note, especially at the beginning and end, and whenever the music feels "at rest" at that moment. The intro section for example plays a lot around F Ab C, so thats almost certainly F already, and the other notes form a minor chord with it. You also seem to have perfect pitch, which is nice. I suggest the internet page "TonedEar" for more training, also with chords and scales One last notational thing, if the raised 7th of harmonic minor is an accidental, write it as a # or double# so that every "line position" is used exactly once
@Alexander-oh8ry
@Alexander-oh8ry 2 жыл бұрын
And the 1.5 step of harmonic minor is a dead giveaway for the root aswell (half step above the top note), as this has a very distinct sound

I generally arrange the songs that don't have many or any arrangements. I guess I just kinda thought not many people would really care if I did an arrangement of a song that already has a lot of them. But if people want me to I wouldn't mind arranging it at all because I love aishite, aishite, aishite. Also I'm glad you like the arrangement, and thank you for the sub :)

@@bosshogg icic! Wow I definitely respect that! Ichizupiano didn't put the music sheet in his arrangement unfortunately and I thought his arangement was really stylistic which you would enjoy arranging and listening to it! May I also know what software you use to transcribe (e.g. musescore, Sibelius etc.) And do you do it all by ear? Or do you have other applications you use to aid you in the process as I am interested in transcribing music sheets for other pieces as well and I would like to know your process of doing it! Thank you so much!!!

@@dylanhoo7837 I only use musescore for my arrangements, and I do it all by ear. As for my process of doing so its pretty boring. First I'll litsen to the song around 5-10 times to get an idea of how I want to arrange it and identify things like tempo and such. Then I just take the song bit by bit and transcribe exactly what I hear. I hope my response was somewhat helpful 😅 if you have anymore questions I'd be happy to answer.

@@bosshogg haha I tried transcribing before but never got to finish it but yeaaa huge props to you and all. I mean I have trouble with rhythm and tempo (even though I am grade 8 piano but still) XDXD so I plug the MP3 of whatever I tried to transcribe into audacity and put a metronome over it all and do it from there as an aid. All in all keep up the good work and wishing you all the best man. Great inspiration for me and I look forward to your transcription of aishite!
