It is so nice to see this mentality of "Look how we develop our character" instead the usual "Yeah that character sux so I switched to the new top tiers". For a lot of loyalist players or simply semi casuals who want to improve characters we like these types of videos are awesome, thanks a lot. EDIT About the damage I absolutely agree and I love it, I can't understand how people say "there is barely noticeable", NOP you can't not notice it, besides some specific combos with really good starters and routes the damage toned down is quite significant and I can't stress enough how much I love it.

Nice nice. I only really thought of it because of stuff i picked up during the kof 13 trials. Id recommend everyone try them because rather than all of the combos being executional nightmares, there are more like moderate challenges that teach you new executional skills. Theres stuff that looks literally impossible (like a 2p into a double halfcircle p, when in reality the input is halfcircle back qnd then halfcircle back, press P when you are at down, then P again when you finish the motion), but when you approach it from a different angle, you learn something. Anyway thx for making the Vid i wanted someone to spread the word

@@kyeblade06 You press P+K+H right when the yellow VFX fades out/disappears and Anji stops spinning (right when he starts dropping his hands from over his head), so start the motion preemptively to finish right at that moment. You can get the feeling of when the move comes by doing Midare (214P after successful spin) by itself first. The button timing is the same as Midare, you just start the motion a bit earlier for the super PRC because it's more complex than a 214P. When you get the timing for Midare, start building on top of it little by little, starting with just kara canceling Midare into super, then when you get comfortable doing that, add super into RC (press P+K+H instead of just P+H), and then you can practice the timing for fast PRC cancel into 5S. Doing it after a spin IS kinda tough, because the timing is variable depending on when you interact with your opponent's buttons, the cue is the yellow VFX that appears during a successful spin. Just an extra execution training tip, if you can't get it even after 15~20mn straight, take a little break, drink some water, and try it again later, it really helps. LMK if it's still ambiguous.

I havent played or labbed seriously after the patch launched, but these are my thoughts on the two new mechanics. Wild Assault: use at the end of wall break combos to get advantage and keep super meter for RC pressure. Deflect Shield: Use this on characters plus moves during their block strings. Theyll assume its still their turn and as an Anji olayer I THINK Fujin can reach them while they're whiffing their button from their string they thought would land next. It comes with character string knowledge. An example would be to use it on Johnny's Vault+Card move. Johnny players would assume that they are plus after thry delay their card release for the 2 hit version instead of the single hit version. Use deflect shield to throw them off and gorilla bash your shoulder into them and make em pay. My theory crafting two cents.

Man season 3 goes wild, I play jacko and when I read that her 5k got reduced launch and her elysium driver was no longer a cgrab I just figured they'd boost some damage on other moves and dumb her down to make her predictable, but then they made her shield command hit it, and that shifted how she's played in a whole new way, paired with the new elysium driver I prefer her this way now, having minions out finally feels like more than just using the attack command and finding oki situations

Great tech! It's actually not too hard to get a Drift PRC if you do the super motion fast enough and with proper timing. There is no need to press the dash button or add another forward after the motion, the super motion itself gives you the dash input (since it includes forward inputs at the start of the motion and at its end). The execution of this tech is actually very similar to Johnny's Mist Step Treasure Hunt in Xrd.
@klaige Жыл бұрын
Never thought of it that way but it's a very apt comparison, the difference is I can do this and I could do MSTH to save my life lol.
@NBSilentShadow Жыл бұрын
@@klaige Yeah MSTH actually requires an extra froward input AFAIK, and the time window to complete the motion is a bit tighter because of the typical routes into it, but there is the argument that Anji's, while not as executionally intensive, requires getting accustomed to a variable timing window determined by an interaction with an opponent rather than a practiced consistent timing like MSTH, which makes it harder in practice than just the pure execution aspect. ASW should just make Midare PRC~able, or just let Anji PRC the spin... Yeah, probably not gonna happen 😅

The new defensice mechanic (defensive assault?) Is really good against set ups. As a Millia main, seems very strong against us. Id guess anji butterfly and ino note also feels the power of this new mechanic more than other characters

Deflect shield definitely feels at it's strongest when used on wakeup against oki, it's kind of like a mini burst that's harder to bait and offers better rewards if successful.

Ok, so the bad news is I'm pretty sure Anji's still in the bottom third tier-wise. The good news is the distance between the best character and the worst character is the smallest it's ever been for this game and that's definitely a good thing.
@klaige Жыл бұрын
Trying to place characters in any tier during the first week of a patch that altered things this heavily is almost certainly a fool's errand. I expect this version to be evolving for months to come.

@@klaige Fish dp is a game changer for neutral, but ultimately it's a fix for a move that should have been working from the start, whereas other characters got new tools entirely. Fujin is still a massive pain, the higher i go in the tower the more people continue to do the same - fuzzy block and buffer an airthrow. I've even met a couple potemkins in celestial where every fujin they blocked without meter behind it ended either in an air to air combo or a PB. I'm afraid people will soon figure out that you can throw fujin on your blockstring, and there is no big counterhit behind charged fujin to punish them accordingly for it, as the worst they can eat now is a nagiha skd. The overall dynamic where other characters get new specials while anji got a fix for something that should have been working from the start is a bit painful to observe.
@klaige Жыл бұрын
@@hattenhair Extremely improved neutral was one of the biggest buffs Anji could have gotten. Not to mention with this new tech its improved neutral that can threaten punishing even low risk pokes for 200 damage once 50% meter is online. I've said, have said, and will continue to say that Fuujin "mixup" had never been real, not even in +R. Good players will punish fuujin followups being used in blockstrings. Use strike/throw, use resets with spin, butterfly, or spending meter/burst for continued pressure. This change is far more effective for Anji on the whole than just brute forcing Fuujin followups to be stronger ever would. Also remember, you don't have to do a followup. People just reacting aren't going to do anything when you sit there and have the chance to steal a turn. Fuujin requires conditioning. You've got to make opponents afraid of other options and become more hesitant if you want to employ fuujin followups on block.
@hattenhair Жыл бұрын
@@klaige Spin finally working is good, no issues there. Fuujin into nothing is a good strat and I am constantly using it, but it doesn't work for long before the enemy can react to the gap and mash something fast. Going for a greedy throw is not an option on celestial and being -18 for 2S or -14 for 2P isn't sweet. On a good day after the novelty wears off you just loose your turn, on a bad one you get 2K 2D constantly. Resetting into spin NEVER worked for me, unless I'm on floor 9 or below. I just get CH c.S'd or thrown if I want to go for a greedy grab. Hop is out of the question as it's completely reactable. The other 3 followups no matter how delayed always end up in me getting punished. I don't know but when I go against lvl 5 thousand players I never manage to be safe on my blockstrings apart from 2 or 3 times before the fujin into nothing novelty wears off.
