My best friend and I did this in 2019 when I was moving from Vancouver (my hometown) to Toronto for university. Let me tell you, this trip looks very different if you do it on the cheapest possible ticket… 4 days of being crammed in a car with a dozen other people and 4 nights sleeping in what were essentially reclining airplane seats. Still one of my best travel experiences!
@TwistyTrav6 ай бұрын
I took the Via rail in 2019 too, but I went from Toronto to Vancouver. Being crammed together was the best part. You're forced to talk to people you normally wouldn't be & it really gives you an opportunity to get to know them.

I took this train back in 2019 in the Coach (economy) section, and let me tell just say you're missing out on a hell of an experience. Sure, you don't have a private room with any real accommodations... BUT the people you meet & the stories you make with them, when you're forced to spend a long time in such close proximity to complete strangers are truly priceless. By far, that was the best part for me. Its also a bit satisfying to know that 1st class passengers aren't allowed in the front, because neither are economy class passengers allowed any further back past the 1st casual dining car. Economy passengers don't have access to the fine dining area at all, even if they were willing to pay. So you're forced to bring 4 days worth of non-perishable snacks, or just purchase every meal. You also don't have any access to shower facilities & the one bathroom is shared among the entire economy car.

@OhHeyItsShey5 ай бұрын
Across county generally means from one large city on the coast to the next large county on the other side. Just like how across America is New York to Seattle even though there are several states East of New York. This applies to any county, not just northern America. Like how "across Italy" is Rome to Venice even though there are many towns North of Venice and South of Rome.

It is probably one of the sneakiest, worst services in the world. They’ve been sharing private information for money, they treat their therapists horribly and that leads to worse treatment for patients. Therapy is super important and necessary, Better Help is a parasite of a company and I cannot believe that after all they’ve done they’re still getting KZbinrs agreeing to promote them. It's so interesting experiencing BC from the vantage point of someone who doesn't live there. Save for 5 years of my life I've lived in BC and while I know the views are beautiful, I don't ever remember being in awe of them. Oh! Except the Island. Vancouver Island has some of the most beautiful views I've ever seen.

Don't get me wrong I like Kara and Nate as people, but they give me very much musty vibes like I understood when they lived in the van and water could be scarce, but you're on a LUXURY train how do you not take a shower until 66 hours (almost 3 days) into the trip?!?

I love that you guys went during winter. The snow covering the landscapes is just breathtaking. Not to mention our wildlife too ✨ Much love from Ontario 🇨🇦

I love your videos but I have to tell you, you’re not “all the way across Canada” Youre only about two thirds of the way, there’s a whole bunch more Canada past Toronto 😂

I'm favoured, $27K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America.

This train trip was my mom's last wish before she died. Unfortunately I was a 20 year old who couldn't afford to take her on it. So now it's my goal to bring her ashes along on the trip and spread them at each stop ❤

I've been enjoying your videos. Very insightful; however, your NEGATIVITY ABOUT AMTRACK IS UNCOOL. AND Kara having to wait 15 whole minutes for an AMTRACK ATTENDANT. Gee, life must be real hard.

Why
@croft47466 ай бұрын
@@smirkalpuff6219 they sell users private information shared in confidence in therapy to advertisers for money, and do not properly vet their ‘therapists’, which has resulted in tons of cases of neglect from therapists, including with emergency therapy, meaning people at risk of taking their own life. Its very dangerous as they are playing with peoples mental health for profit.

You got out in Capreol! Just up the road from me and the station my nephew works out of as a conductor for CN Rail. Big thank you for your videos. I discovered you at the beginning of the pandemic and you are the first KZbin channel I ever subscribed to. So thank you for taking me with you on all of your adventures, and for stopping briefly in my hometown.

$10K for a train ride is wild! Definitely not something I’d pay for but cool to see you both enjoy it so much 😊

I did this trip going west in 2013 in the sleeper berth. Absolute best train trip I have ever done, and I recommend it every chance I get to everyone I meet.
