Pirañas only bite during the dry season when the water level drops and they are trapped in small streams and can't get out to find food. They will eat their own then anything that steps into that body of water. So you were safe. :) OMG, the food is the best part but you cut it out. :( Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :(

It is absolutely reckless swimming in the Amazon. There are far too many nasties, including Cayman, green anacondas, huge catfish which drag you under, piranhas, tiger sharks to name but some. If the guides who know the area don't go swimming, than neither should you. You cannot expect anyone to jump into the river should you experience difficulty. Just for a photo? Is it really worth it?

Love your videos! There's just one point I want to address and that is that all these luxury experiences from the last few months cause that I can't really relate that much anymore. I understand that they get offered to you and I wouldn't refuse them either if I were you, but it does make the vlogs less... personal? As much as I love to see you guys enjoying these luxury experiences, I would also love to see some adventures again which you guys choose yourselves and that are less expensive and thus easier to experience myself (for instance your Thailand vlogs, I binged them before I went there myself and I loved it!!).

They have nice lodges you can stay at. I did one last year. A lot more freedom than a cruise would give and still the relative safety. They had good size paths around the lodge so I felt safe walking around even at night (which is the best time to spot all the cool creatures.) An yes it was all by myself (and my sister). Now there are some crazy large spiders you see everywhere though, so wondering around if you aren't paying attention might not be that wise.

Some information for you just so you know. Peru is an expansionist country and has taken land mostly from Ecuador about 2/3's, Brazil to flank us to the East and a bit of Colombia. They tried to steal from Chile but they kicked their asses and decided to go all the way to Lima. Unfortunately, they didn't find anything they wanted and just left hahahaaa. Sorry, I had to laugh, in South America, we call Peruvian's Brother Cain. Love your videos always a pleasure. :)
