Well in Karachi we do say janab we do talk to elders ji janab or if we want to gv more respect to someone.. even we live abroad we still talk with so much respect.. with aap ji and janab.. people who is Urdu speaking talk like that.. well surma its Sunat and before every man used to wear surma on Friday prayers. We are proud we are Pakistani and proud how we speak with so much respect that’s why our Urdu it’s so beautiful.

Honestly don't get why the movie is being hated upon, counter view: maybe we muslims did wear kajal/surma and talked with ap/janab before partition, it is us who have lost the culture and westernised to be the way we are, so it's quite dumb to not even consider the reality of our culture the way it was. Pakistani drama aya tha angan which had all these elements and even more, everyone loved it, so about time we appreciate it? haven't watched the movie, but thoughts no hatee
