I came to know about Conrad after listening to your reading of The Lagoon, and I really liked his style. So I borrowed a book from the library and I was just reading this story. I searched yt to see if there's any audio rendition of it, and to my delight, I found this.

Conrad’s writing is so densely descriptive that reading it one easily becomes disembodied and find oneself right there amidst the action, or the utter helplessness. Your addition to it with excellent voices and pacing plus the technical quality makes it even more intense. I don’t know how you got into doing this (I found you for the SH stories) but it was a great gift to all of us. I hope I might be able to buy you a cup of coffee. I’m retired and can’t do much more, so I am that much more grateful I’ve now listened to all the SH material and Chesterton’s Innocence of FB. Looking forward to Wisdom. Greg, you did this reading six years ago, and I am just now hearing it! The story was so fascinating, and I had such vivid images listening to your reading, I had to look up Joseph Conrad in Wikipedia. I didn’t know anything about him as a writer. Turns out his life was kind of tragic. And English was his third language! I am so grateful that you recorded this story.
