Swa means atma karaka and karaka also mean atma karaka. Both jaimini and maharshi parashar have used karaka for atmakaraka In many dictums. Therefore, karakamsa and swamsa are one and the same. It is a vexed question. I have referred to many old interpretations and found the same. The modern people are completely deviating from this and giving their own interpretations with their limited knowledge. For the best clarification either jaimini or parashar maharshi has to take rebirth. Ascendant is given different names such as lagna, vilagna, janma, udaya etc. The ancient rishis had used several twists for different situations and they are beyond the scope of our understanding. As our knowledge and understanding of the interpretations given by them is very limited, the predictions in several instances are going wrong. Hence I am humbly submitting this for kind information as many of our predictions are to be based on not only the correct birth time but also on right understaning of inner meaning of interpretation of rules given by the great ancient rishis. I humbly apologize if my words hurt any of our great astrologer. I also have 30 years of experience in the field of astrology.
