I’m glad Karamo spoke to the daughter about managing her expectations. Unfortunately some parents due to their own issues cannot give their children what the children need to heal. This is why I advocate for doing the work to find peace through therapy and in some cases loving the toxic parent from afar. In other cases one can have a relationship with boundaries and realistic expectations of the little that parent can give. Sad it has to be this way. I hope both these women find the healing they need for themselves and maybe one day for each other.

I was done trying to understand the mother when she said “ idc to see them” about her own grandchildren….. I think her wording of it is what is taken offensively. Sometimes the elder generation is so stubborn and too set in their ways to take any accountability. I honestly hate the fact some moms come from trauma and project that same exact trauma onto their own kids knowing how it felt to them when it was them. I’ve only ever had my mom , and my mom came from a life full of trauma. Was taken away from her mom and placed with her father who she hardly knew at the time …. The only child taken away from my grandmother so she was taken away from all her siblings in which my mom had 5 other siblings. My mom made sure she is always available for my siblings and I , and she made sure we didn’t have suffer from the same traumas she did. This makes me appreciate my mom even more! I hope this young lady is able to heal with or without the mother accepting accountability because sometimes they just aren’t ready to self reflect , however she’s got to heal anyway , because now she has children of her own to set the example for.

Such a shame that black mothers still dodge accountability and black children especially daughters STILL have to pick up the pieces they didn’t break in the first place 🙄😒 Edit: For those who are commenting or would feel the need to comment in the future that “this isn’t only a black mother thing” rethink what the word implied means before you waste your time. This video is addressing a VERY common and VERY tired dynamic between black mothers and children. No one when they make a generalized statement is talking to every single person within the topic they’re speaking about, but I will say if you feel the need to point out that “it’s not just a black thing” OR “I’m black and I take accountability you’re wrong!” You’re apart of the problem. People who know they take accountability wouldn’t have the need to announce they do. 🤦🏽♀️

@seawilliams70689 ай бұрын
@@michellej4289 I agree that this is a worldly issue but this comment is exactly another reason why black mothers cannot take accountability, we know others are struggling but right now we are talking about black mothers and their children. Also saying some is redundant because that’s already implied in my original comment, no one unless they think they’re god is ever talking about every single person in a generalized statement they make.

I just wanted to point out one vital aspect that no one gives credit to the Mother for. Alfreda gave up rights to her child and she has discussed with me repeatedly that she wants us to be where God wants us to be when the Grandkids start coming on the regular. She loves her children and grandkids so much that she sacrificed her feelings for their betterment by knowing herself well enough to know she wasn't ready to be Mom, or Grandma. Alfreda, I Love You Infinitly and applaud that sacrifice you made for their chance to be better. No one really understands how far you've come. But I Do. And I'm so excited about what's to come. So, I can definitely understand this daughter when she said that and didn’t take it as her being passive aggressive or being narcissistic (overused word) as some people are saying but as a daughter who needed her mother and without excuses.

This is so sad. Generational trauma is real. I wish there was an easy fix but obviously there’s not. The daughter even said that she had abused her son in the past because of her own hurt, which stemmed from her mother’s own hurt, which stemmed from who knows where? HER mom? HER upbringing? It’s like when will the cycle ever end? It’s great that the daughter doesn’t abuse her son anymore because someone pointed it out, but he still suffered abuse that he didn’t deserve. He may hold those memories into his adulthood and it may resurface in his kids and so on and so on. I hate it. But it’s good that resources like the Karamo Show exist for people in really messed up situations. He’s very helpful when it comes to family issues. Watching his videos have even helped me in regard to my own family. I love how he highlights the importance of validating everyone’s feelings. Not necessarily their behavior, but their FEELINGS. It would have been so easy as an outsider looking in, to say that the mother in this situation is just an evil/awful person and that she doesn’t deserve anything good to happen to her. But the truth of the matter is that she was a little girl at some point. She was introduced to wicked things at some point. She was innocent at some point and was then harmed and taken advantage of. She’s human. Idk, this show just really makes me think about life and relationships. It’s not all drama like Maury or Jerry Springer (which are still great shows, don’t get me wrong lol) but something about Karamo seems much more NECESSARY. I’m glad I’m able to watch it and learn from the stories that are featured.

And they definitely need counseling to completely be healed from the trama they both went through and i hope karamo stays in touch with them

I said this under a comment already, but when you (the mom) have been diagnosed with a mental disorder, because of childhood trauma... Reality is different for a lot of people (her). That woman said she has been raped from the age of 6 years old to 34 years old... That's a big deal and it made an significant impact on how she was as a mother... It sounds like the dad was possibly being manipulative by taking the child.. and according to the Mom, that's when the drug use started. It seems like family counseling will help them learn how to communicate and start building back up and emotional connection.

I hope Diamond is able to grieve the relationship that she may not ever have with her mother, turn that sadness into love for her children, and heal her mind. Boundaries and loving people from a distance is hard work, but it can be done 💗

The mother has issues sure. Then work on them! When you have children you can never give up. How can you not care about your grand babies enough to learn their names 😡

The mom wants to clear her name so bad. I feel like some untruths have been told about her to the point where Diamond doesn’t even want to entertain the thought that the story might be different.
