stumbled across Karan & Solas in the 90's while working a local Irish Fest in CT. stopped me in my tracks- what a fantastic voice! saw her every now and then over the years ..some things never change. she's still utterly amazing.

Few female vocalists come close to Karan. I was fortunate to see her in Belfast and it was pure magic.

Why would anyone sing those lyrics with so little concentration on what is being sung? If anyone is bothering to listen, I suggest searching for the original instead.

idiot! Different people have different interpretations. But I can tell by her rendition she has more understanding than your assinine ignorant contribution. Go in peace.

You know, if you listen to the lyrics really carefully, there's probably a line or two in there about not being a miserable bastard.

@@lilaccilla In my opinion it is ok to have minority opinions. Furthermore, "everyone here" may not have heard the original or care about the lyrics, which are what make this song special. And finally, if you are ready to dismiss my right to have opinions, why should I particularly care about yours? But then maybe no one "[taught] you how to question when you were at the school. " I wonder if you will even get that reference, considering you are pushing for groupthink over a song promoting independent thought. Clearly this rendition of the song did not get its point through to you.
