'Rei'［レイ］is one of the ways to read 「霊」, which means ghost/spirit. On the train tracks, one of the girls doesn't have a visible shadow. (This doesn't imply that the shadowless girl is a ghost. It is more likely that the other girl hallucinated the shadowless girl). Sentences at 1:30 provide evidence that Rei was bullied. The speaker (girl with a visible shadow) is likely the suspect, as 「次の標的に置かれた花瓶」, and 「仕掛けたのは僕だった」 suggests. The sentence, 「仕掛けたのは僕だった」 reveals that the vase was placed by the speaker. In Japan, placing flowers on someone's desk even though they aren't dead is a one of the forms of bullying. Additionally, at 2:07, 「爪を突き立てる 不揃いのスカート」which translates to "Sticking nails in a messed up skirt", shows the possibility of sexual assault. Rei's suicide was likely caused by bullying. The speaker may had feelings for Rei, but was ultimately friendzoned. This led the speaker to believe if she persuaded her friends/classmates to bully Rei and then appear to "save" her, she would go out with her. However, contrary to the speaker's expectations, Rei jumped into the tracks and ended her life, making the speaker overwhelmed with regret and hallucinations. Haunted by the thoughts of the person committing suicide because of their actions, the speaker also jumped into the tracks. This is foreshadowed by stutters and train noises near the song's end.
