Actually what you said happened to my team. our football girls team won the state best when I was in 7th and ofc gold was nice but in 8th, the seniors went into senior team and we had to replace like 6 members on our junior team. No biggie we trained well and when matches came up, we started late at like 9 am in the morning with guys first and by our turn came, it was like 1 pm. anyways, we played 3 matches back to back (mind you it's 90 min nonstop running it's soccer) and qualified for semifinals (quarter had already taken place) then after like 30 min break, we played 2 matches back to back and got into the finals and then after 30 min break we played the finals and we lost 5-2 because by that time we were all so exhausted that most of our legs were shaking j stnading. Mind you all of these matches were on the same day and we got no breaks cuz it was on school grounds and outdoors so it was getting dark and they wanted to end the matches soon. I'm graduating 12th in like a week, I won many after that but that one match, I'll never forget the desperation we felt. That thrill i had when I defended against them with sheer will bcoz my body was begging me to j lay down, that excitement, that fear.....that was something else 9also cuz i had like 100 fever before the tournament but okay) I was the captain too until the finals but then I switched to defence and I lost my voice mostly from shouting instructions to everyone for 5 matches so yes. That's my story n it sucks
