Basics are so important. It can be considered that basics are the start of mastery....when one can hone the fundamentals.The reason is because if someone has not got good basics they wont move well later on with advanced material. Great video !👍

@@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs when I teach techniques to my students we work on it for a week until we learn something new. But I always revisit the lesson and train old techniques so no one forgets.

I trained 3 times a week from 1972 to 1980 .And even now if someone goes to touch my face for any reason ,I instinctively block them without even thinking .I am 81

I chose to wield the knifehand instead of the fist, but I found myself lacking in technique. I decided to look up a style that uses the knifehand and I found that karate uses it (although not so much). So here I am, learning techniques from you.

I just finished lesson 1 and it was great. I already know some kick boxing but i wanted to learn a martial art where strength isnt behind every move since im not muscular or anything. I especially want to learn karate so I can protect others, like right now someone at my church is being stalked. Usually I cant really do anything do too my short and kinda skinny physique, its getting annoying and i want to be able to protect those who cant protect themselves. Anyway sorry for yapping but i feel like these videos/lessons of yours will help me do that.

Thank you for watching. It is difficult to to give an exact time because everyone is different. Some people will understand and get really good very quick and others may have to work much longer to get good. I still have my black belts practice basic white belt techniques. You could never go wrong with extra practicing.

@@haithemdz5523 when teaching my students techniques or combos I would have them work on it for 2-3 days and then revisit the techniques every couple weeks. Longer and harder combos I’ll have my students work on it for an entire week and again redo the lesson. Repetition is key to getting better

Hi, I’m not sensi but I have done boxing and mma, you don’t need to wear gloves but I advise it, if it’s a heavy bag like for mma then yeah probably wear gloves, if it’s a normal bag or dummy then you don’t have too
