There’s a lot of meaning to this clip of this film. Played excellently well by the child (???). Jackie Chan was stupendous and an excellent choice for this róle.

This movie has nothing to do with Daniel Laruso or Mr Miyagi. If it didn't have Jackie Chan in it, it would have been even worse.

They should rebrand this series as "the martial arts child" where theres a different martial art explored each iteration while maintaining the Daniel-miyagi dynamic, almost like parallel universes.

The original Karate kid, and this movie, have the same structure of "kid moves to a new place with mom, gets bullied, meets handyman martial arts teacher". I see this movie as just a re-imagning of the old concept, which is why they call it "Karate Kid" and not "Kung Fu Kid". Though Cobra Kai, while in the same universe as the original, scrapped this formula; there's not just one hero/bully, there's many, and at one point the heroes were bullies and vice versa. I can see the new Karate Kid movie coming out in 2025 to combine these two approaches for the way their story will be structured.

@@Daboiieli I agree. That is child abuse. What makes it even worse is the fact that it is someone else’s child. He does not have any permission to put his hands on someone else’s child. But society there is so messed up that complaining will bring shame to the family and the police probably won’t do anything about him since it might not be considered a crime there. That guy really is pure evil if he is willing to hurt a child.

In Mr. Han's world: Fighting/violence = Is wrong and should always be the last solution. Walking away: The first solution. Martial arts: To be used for self-defense purposes only. The force must be proportional to the attack. In Master Li's world: Fighting/violence: Is always the first solution no matter what. Walking away: Is for the weak or for cowards. Martial arts: To be used to kick your attacker's a$$. To be used to put your attacker in their place by showing them that they're messing with the wrong person. You must use excessive force to demonstrate your toughness. If I were to choose which world to live in, I would have to pick Mr. Hans.
