Agreed I mean do we really need to see Johnny bumbling around making the same Jokes he’s been making since 2018. They had their thing in cobra Kai that’s done now. The only ones who make any kind of sense is Daniel’s family for maybe a quick scene but this isn’t cobra Kai it’s its own story and it seems more of a serious tone than what cobra Kai is

@ yeah I mean look the shows done. It’s had a great run but it’s time to end it now. Ralph is in this because he is the star of karate kid so that’s why he’s in this. It wouldn’t make sense to put any other character there. The kids will all be off in college or working and all Johnny will be there for is to make some jokes making fun of china. I like zabka but Johnnys humour has gotten old to me. It’s always the same type of jokes. They were funny at first but by now it’s lost its charm. This movie clearly already has its own supporting cast and it’s a guy who already knows martial arts. So maybe they’ll have small references to cobra Kai but like Daniel maybe mentioning Sams name in a conversation there’s no need for any of them since this is mainly set in china

Looks pretty good! What's weird is since Jackie chan is in it and playing the same guy from the 2010 karate kid movie it effectively makes that one no longer a remake but part of the main series. I'm so conflicted on that. I initially hated that movie but now I'm thinking maybe i should give it another chance.

Who ever put this trailer honestly deserves a raise. I was a big fan of the karate kid movies and when cobra kai came out, I was very skeptical at first. For some reason I don't know why, cobra kai just didn't hit for me. But this one looks incredible.

I’m so happy we are getting more karate kid/cobra Kai but my only wish is that it doesn’t recon any of the Cobra Kai series or any of the karate kid remake in 2010. 🙏🏼 if not it’s perfect and I can’t wait, it was a good first trailer, didn’t give to much away and was intriguing. 🙌🏼👍🏻

I wonder if at least the family, Daniel's wife and kids will have some sort of cameo or a "phone call" or "facetime" type of scene. We didn't have 6 seasons of Cobra Kai to just ignore this incredible universe of new characters! Or is this situated BEFORE the events of Cobra Kai because Daniel does look "younger"? 🤔 Maybe before Samantha was born...but then again the scenery looks very recent (buildings, etc.)

Hillary Swank gets a lot of smack for that movie, but it wasn't bad, and she wasn't bad in it. I'd like to see that character integrated into this "world" as well. She IS part of the Miyagi-Do family. Besides, it would just reinforce that the people who learn from these masters, will be a new level of fighter. Someone learning three styles of martial arts, is gonna be one tough nut to crack.

Honestly, since the show is called Cobra Kai, we feel it kind of fits what Cobra Kai was to us growing up. A bunch of action-heavy hot-heads, beating people up and showing no mercy. The show gives us that. Also includes flashback character building in homage to Rambo/Deer Hunter/Platoon, as well an underdog story that straight up references itself as well as the Rocky series. But yes, going back to a cinematic feel is a welcome change to the series. Love that they still all connect though. Including Jackie's Karate Kid film.
