I have experience in martial arts and I can tell you now, if he knows karate then you're probably perfectly safe. you get a lot of guys in martial arts that did some karate classes and think they can fight but they get destroyed in a real fight. karate takes years of hard work everyday to use it effectively. if he's just done a few after-school classes and thinks he's tough then you can probably beat him easy

The funny thing about people who say they know karate is that they didn't take it seriously and therefore won't be good at it. As you progress through the belts you get taught modesty on the subject subconsciously as it gets drilled into you as self defence. Either that or they are actually worried about hurting you but you can usually tell.

the number one thing they tell you in karate class is to NOT go around flexing karate lmao, its like one of the biggest rules. it gives your opponent the upper hand bc they already know what you're abt to do

6:45 your absolutely right about this personally I prefer Lethwei over Karate but I think it's universally agreed that the only people who flex their skills are famous or immature brats who feel tough after they learnt a few moves and idk maybe fought a random civilian but honestly just because you know any form of martial arts that doesn't make you strong it's how you utilize it to your body's best capabilities that makes you strong and having experience for example lots of fighters these days have a strong pride or bullies of the weak but strong or weak if you throw sand in a man's eyes and kick him in the nuts or something yeah that guy is going to be in pain and the stuff they learnt isn't going to prepare them specifically for that
