That should NOT stop you from training. there is much more in martial arts than just doing splits. Also Kyokushin mainly depends on low kicks. Low kicks are much stronger than high kicks. You are also less likely to lose balance when low kicking. High kicks are only effective because they hit the head and face. Dont let that be a an issue. OSU!

guys, im learning kyokushin karate... i just got 2 freakin heavy punches from our teacher *like the end of every lesson* for endurance. However, these were not like other lessons. i felt freakin insane pain that i wasn't able to breath for a few seconds... it was terrible and so i wanna know what can i do to strengthen my stomach's muscles so that they would be able to endure and take hits. Thanks guys my karate's class is tomorrow and i dont think im willing to die so i need help, thx..

Nice exercises, but wotuhout ppreparation (wearm-ups) and purpopse. In my experience, having spent over 30 years of Karate training, are best suited for after training, or extra trainikng of strenghtening onň s body, basically for any kind of martial arts. Best regards Paul.

Don't be discouraged by my observation, but admittedly, I think training by yourself and traveling to japan to practice Karate is not very realistic, and you're probably not planning things well enough. However, if you do have everything covered, I advise training in Okinawa. Watch the documentary "Human Weapon: Karate". It features a great dojo there, perhaps It'll pick your interest. All the best :)

@Da1RiSiN1sMoKe Either that, or the joints in your hands and wrists aren't up for the challenge just yet. Some people may need to use gloves first or shore up those fists with knuckle-ups for a while before they go bare-handed.

@cutthatcity All they really have here is a burlap bag, sand, and an apparatus to hang it from. With a little creativity and a trip to the hardware & military store, you can make your own. There are places who sell sandbags, which may be manufactured to last longer, but they get real expensive.

you find the basic training on the internet. and it dosent realy matter if you are in the dojo or at home the only thing that matters is the amount of work you put into it. work hard. and you will see results. by the way, please do train when you are drunk for maximum results. :)))

@Mustakrakiish There's a difference between throwing proper technique to the proper areas than swinging like a madman with the incorrect knuckles, form, until something breaks. Occasional injuries happen. Besides, I never met someone who fucked up their knuckles while punching a bag, unless they kept hitting with their pinky. YOU obviously have done something wrong if you break your knuckles on a bag. I've seen people hurt their wrists, however. -_-
