Samuel Ortiz it's pretty effective. It all depends on the practitioner and how it's taught. I've seen some karate practitioners get their asses kicked in the streets by people with no experience, and I've seen some who handled themselves very well.

I’m a about to be a Yellow belt in Yoshika Karate and I don’t even have sparring gear and I can fight better than that. But the thing is I would be scared to fight as a black belt because you know that the other black belt and you can break a bone or punch/kick really hare so you try to stay away as far as you can so I would only be kicking too if I was a black belt now but I’m not.
