Mr Jesse. I suggest you find wing chun fighters who also have adapted their martial arts for sports competition and have actually competed and fought in the ring. The man in this video doesn't do any of us justice. I'd volunteer myself but sadly I have too many injuries to even think about sparring or competing anymore and just practice for my own health and exercise. But, if you look for sport Kung fu fighters in the US that know wing chun, I'm sure you can find them. Good luck sir. Love your videos..keep up the good work and thanks for being a shining light in the martial arts world.

I used to do the same thing but I’d always get pointed for it. You apparently couldn’t maintain stable footing in a block/punch combo and had to push yourself back rather than the opponent which honestly just seems flawed to me. I mean yeah in certain scenarios I can see how it’d be beneficial but in most I’m gonna wanna shove the opponent away/off balance so I can get in that really good kick on them

People often underestimate karate and think it's just straight punching and kicking... Nothing could be farther from the truth. It includes "sticky fingers" and lots of parrying techniques as well. This man studies with lots of different practitioners and even had a lengthy session with Seagal (a must see, no matter how you feel about Seagal). He's learned to incorporate many things and is confident and bold (not wild) in his application and subsequently is a very accomplished and dangerous fighter and a terrific teacher. His brother is great, too. 😊

Agree with the parrying especially weapon defense. I took karate for a few years when I was young. Only got to my 4th belt(blue) before I stopped. I swear I thought he said "my eye came out" lol. It brought to memory a story my tae kwon do master used to tell about a match he watched when he was a teen. A guy was accidently kicked in the back of his head with such power that one of his eyeballs bulged out of the socket. In the end, it was just a matter of properly putting the eyeball back in place, but damn, that used to scare me

@@guilhermegarcia8750 no idea. The only kind of insight I can give regarding that with certainty is related to my dad's job as a vet. It's unusual but not impossible that some animals have their eyeballs bulged or even pushed out of the socket during fights or such, and many times there's no serious damage. By the way, google a condition called exophtalmos. It isn't the same but looks quite a bite like it

That sneaky ass headkick at the end though. Those Karate Kicks are so smooth it's unreal how fast they can throw them, without even telegraphing, just with speed and setups.

I would say is Karate-3 WC-2 Draws-2, it’s obvious that Jesse got more full contact experience, but WC demonstrated great control like back fist to jaw and biu ji but not to the eye to avoid injury

I think the guy on the left won because even though he wasn't as good with the hands he managed to throw in some good kicks

Everyone should respect each other's martial arts. We are all awesome 😎👍 I wish there was more opportunities to practice cross genre sparing. We could all learn so much from each other in the spirit of friendliness and brotherhood. Respect to all dedicated martial artists, wherever you are ❤️🙏

I'm seeing some similarities in the hand-to-hand combat here, and the only reason he couldn't defend the kick is cuz Wing Chung doesn't have kicks, also the ending was a little funny🤣
