Not just friends, peers. They lived and trained together at the China Drama Academy under very brutal conditions when they were teens. Jackie Chan is in this movie as well, he's one of the guards Bruce Lee grabs by the face in the underground guard fight scene.

Great reaction from you and Sensei Vidal! Always wanted to see your reaction to Bruce Lee. No better film to start off with than Enter The Dragon. Cool that Sensei Vidal pointed out Pat Johnson. The person who did music is "Lalo Shifrin" who is arguably the most iconic composer in movie history! He did the theme for Mission Impossible & the scores for Cool Hand Luke, Amityville Horror, and Rush Hour trilogy! P.S. Ennio Morricone (The Thing & The Good Bad and Ugly) and John Williams (Star Wars & Jaws) are IMHO the top 3, along with Lalo!

Up until the 80s it was standard practice to cast martial artists, not actors, in martial arts movies. Then in the 90s they got away from that and began training actors in martial arts, as well as employing more martial arts trained stunt doubles. So as you watch martial arts movies through time the general trend is that the acting gets better but the martial arts gets worse. The rare exception is when you have someone who is a great martial artist who can also act, like Donnie Yen, Sonny Chiba, Sho Kosugi, Jackie Chan, and of course Bruce Lee.

Understandably many people focus on the amazing physical feats of Bruce Lee; however, I think those would have quickly faded into past memories if it weren’t for Bruce Lee’s deeper contributions to martial arts, especially in the US. His philosophy, strategy, spirituality, and strident positions on diversity and unity make him a true legend. Not unlike Muhammad Ali became more than simply a boxer, Bruce Lee became more than a martial artist, while simultaneously defining exactly what a martial artist should be. ✌️

I love Bruce Lees movies and philosophy, i personally study, train and practice his fighting system of Jeet Kune Do and seeing you watch this movie is interesting because of the different perspectives of other fighters. Also Bruce Lee finished four films which are The Big Boss, Fists of Fury, Way of the Dragon and Enter the Dragon in that order, and the fifth film Game of Death was never finished because he unfortunately died before it's completion.

The voice is dubbed by John Little when he is talking to the Shaolin monk. Bruce Lee's voice starts when he talks with the government operative Braithwaite. The conversation with the Shaolin monk wasn't shown when the movie was released. It was added years later and John Little supplied the voice for Bruce.

there is a chinese movie that is very good and its called Ip man. Its mainly about wing chun and other kung-fu styles, but its about the time that japan invaded china, so one of the main characters is a japanese shotokan karate master and the black belt japanese soldiers that fight against chinese kung-fu masters. I recommend this movie so you can react to it (if you want). But it kinda gives a bad image to the japanese people, and the movie is in cantonese, so I don´t know.

Originally the early part of this film, the opening fight, the moment of Bruce with his sensei, and him tutoring the young martial artist were taken out. I would assume for run time given when this movie came out but also Hollywood politics probably felt audiences would like it. But I can't imagine it not being in there because it shows the level and intelligence of Bruce's character and I think really plays into why he is not only chosen to go after the villain Haun but why he wins in the end, it is body and mind.

The term "Hook kick" is somewhat nebulous... There is a JKD Hook Kick which is really a round kick in common terms and then there is a Hook Kick which is normally done from the lead which uses the heel, then there is the Spinning Hook kick which is normally called a Wheel kick... Take your pick... In actual JKD the Hook kick used most often would be the JKD (normal term round) kick... which would use the JKD pendulum footwork -- that is some cool shit... :)

After Lewis sold his half to Norris, Wall became a student of his. The thugs in the golf course fight scene are Pat Johnson, Darnell Garcia and Michael Bissell, all black belts under Norris. Stunt Yeun Wah did do the monk scene somersault over the raised arms of the monks and took off Bruces cocky walk on landing. Also he did the flip off the floor when hitting Sammo Hung in the face. Yeun also did the same shoulder flip for John Saxon when he fights with Bolo. And yes, it is true that Yuen is the man who doubles for Bruce in the famed acrobatic flip in the Oharra fight sequence.
