Hi Roger, One quick point the L and M Class are also different on the filtration. L Class filter 99% of dust where as M class filter 99.9%. The 0.9% makes quite a big difference when working with Hardwoods or brick, If one is primarily working with softwoods then a L class will suffice. the 0.9% is what justifies the jump in price between an L & M. Cheers.
@JohnDoe-rl9ft Жыл бұрын
You are quoting the minimum requirements for a given Class. But in practice all major vacuum manufacturers use the same filters for the L and M class versions. You can check by looking at the replacement part lists. It’s only the H class which use different filters and those filters impede suction to some degree.

I brought a mirka dust free sander for my decorating business. Nilfisk are the best for dust extraction machines. Alto or attix 30 to 33. Amazing bit of kit. In my opinion better than festool. I've had my Ceros for over ten years and I have battered it through probably 50plus homes upto six bedroom. Earned me some money because I insist on sanding, washing down and rolling three or four times with a durable washable scrub able paint.

Just remember to watch your total wattage of the tool you plug in. A family member had a domestic one but it was only rated at 1000 watts. He plugged in a circular saw and blew the circuit board. So I now have a Karcher WD6 that needs a bypass to the main circuit board but will still work fine.

@1:37 And that's because I forgot to take the cap off. (Were you testing the on board thermal breaker?) My Hilti VC40 U (2010) has a similar 90 degree elbow facing the left side, in order to be away from the inflow of debris while they enter the canister. I think it is easier. The elbow fits right through the horizontal orientation of the filter bag. You solved the questions I had about the difference between L and M class. Festool will have 100 times the back up and service compared to Karcher. Karcher have IMHO chased the bottom end of the pressure washer market and I wouldn't trust spending this much dosh on something that is not as good as a Festool/Makita/Bosch/DeWalt. Karcher are known for water squirting machines. Not industrial vacuums IMHO.

Some ones been putting out it £700 that may be list price. I have a karcher vac (non dust extractor) it a great little thing and has done some shit like sucking wet cavity wall insulation out amongst other equally rough tasks and it has stood it all as well as our Henry. I’d be interested to see this machine in a group line up. As for festool back up I was not so impressed when I brought my last festool the carvex jigsaw. Never would I buy another festool

Excellent review ! In terms of filtration I thought L class was 99% and M class was 99.9% ? That 0.9% does make a difference to what is chucked back in to the atmosphere. I agree with the point about audible warnings to make it a true M class. Good to see this review as we can compare to the power tool manufacturers' dust extractors (e.g. Festool/Metabo etc..) that we all know well. I would still go for a Festool/DeWalt/Metabo extractor.
@SkillBuilder6 жыл бұрын
That is a good point but I was told by a manufacturer that the warning is the thing.

A lot of manufacturers use M-class filters in their L-class as well. So it is M-class filtration but L-class labelled because of the lack of warning sensor.

This one is designed to be used without bags in applications where such is feasible. That’s what the automatic filter cleaning is for, which would not be needed with a bag. My point was that Dyson moved away from bags because they are an inconvenience, their are ways around using them but the corporate fat cats don't want to release them as their is no future money spinner. What do you think happens to the bagged dust once it's put in a skip or in a ash cart!! It gets crushed split ripped etc then the dust comes out anyway, m class is just a move it along class to me, out of sight out of mind, anything that sells right? If you think it's anything any different then you are as gullible as they need to push for more cash.
@macdonaldjohnstonfan5 жыл бұрын
Sean Coles The minute you mentioned Dyson anything you said was not even worth listening too. these are specially rated dust extractors for hazardous applications in building and construction. Dysons don't not have an L/M/H rating on any machine. So if you think that bags are only a marketing tool why is it that ALL H class Asbestos extractors use bags, it's because the bag is required to gain the H class rating combined with the Hepa filters and keep most of the material safely in the bag. The idea behind the bag too is you seal it up with the dangerous dust inside it and throw it away and pop a new one it, if you empty a Dyson of concrete dust it would end up all over you. Not only that, have you tried to rip one of the new fleece bags, they are almost indestructible. They are nothing like the old paper bags, they have superior airflow and better filtration combined with the excellent strength.
