I love that you were humble enough to critique yourself. That is a tough gig to do with an open perspective!!! To the average punter/fan it sounds great and to be honest it didn’t sound too bad (I have heard a lot worse from more professional bands!!!!) Great job!!! Loved it!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

How old are you dude? I’m 30 and remember doing vocals like 10-11 years ago in deathcore bands riding the ss and Whitechapel storm, so cool to watch someone still so invested🤙 I still practice and play around almost daily for pure fun.

Yes! Thank you for making this! I think all artists should be this brave, it's incredibly encouraging to so many people to see someone so good critique themselves when they were newer (probably not the right word) at their craft. You're the man!

Don’t give up, you will get there eventually. I would suggest checking out Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Ken is a cool guy who will definitely help, I’ve been watching for years and have learned a lot

"If you need to take a rest in the moment, do it" A really great example that comes to mind for me is an Enterprise Earth set during Sleep Is For the Dead, Dan straight up just skips doing the entire second "submerged in the depths..." bit before the pre-solo breakdown.

It is great to see where you have gotten and to be able to objectively look back at your start and point out the little flaws. Takes a real person to be able to do this kind of thing and not try to defend everything. Forever going to watch your videos.

Syncopated band moments only work if its rehearsed but also looks natural with at least one dude barely off time. (Not enough to matter but to but humanization in it)

I’ll definitely have to look through that. I haven’t heard much of your guys’ work, I’ve only really heard the newer stuff that has more of an atmospheric sound to it. Sounds a little bit different than the older material in this video, but I like it

Yep! All Three! Kardashev is the main gig. Neverbreath was a black metal project we mostly just goofed around on. As for Viraemia, I came on for Glioblastoma. Everything else is the old vocalist, Tony, who was a got dang beast.

He's such a beast. You can totally combine true chord phonation and false cord phonation safely. But controlling it intentionally and having it show up as a result of muscle fatigue are very different things, and me in this performance back in the day.......I was definitely doing the latter

question to you: isnt death growling kind of relaxing for your voice? i feel like if i do it its like a enjoyable massage :D on the other hand shouting with a lot of false chords is the reason i need these pauses even. maybe im doing something wrong but for me its harder to hit those high shouts/screams than a solid and grounded death growl.

I really liked this more than you showing us what professionals do because it’s nice to see what not to do as well Les how it should be done. I am imagine that this video was also probably pretty painful to watch and to try to copy your bad habits as well.

Kardashev have played a smattering of live shows over the years, mainly local regional shows and occasional festival appearances. We have no real plans to become a full time touring band, but we'd love to hit up some Euro festivals again in the future if the opportunity comes up!

@@KardavoxAcademy Have you already played in Europe before? The biggest Danish metal festival is called Copenhell, in Copenhagen, and they have hosted American names before. Check it out if not this year maybe the next. Have you played any live shows after the release of Peripety and The Almanac?

The intro and outro are just unused preproduction riffs from Kardashev. The songs in the video were Tier III and Displacement, both from our earlier releases :)

In the theme of critiquing old sets, I think it'd be cool to see you react to old Oli Sykes footage from their CYB days. I think there's a lot to be learned from breaking down these old kinds of performances.

This was really a good way to get some insight, I feel like this highlights a few things which are easy to get wrong. Throughout the video I checked to see how I did some of these things and while I don't do them I realize that being aware of it still helps a lot. Nu Metal quite disappointed That you did a Mudvayne song and it was dig very disappointing I might have. So now I’m about halfway joking on that but I would love to see you break down nothing to Gein Ozzfest 2001 They’re my favourite band and that’s my favourite performance never mind just do more Mudvayne as it is because he’s got a very unique voice he’s got a very unique scream he’s got a very unique singing voice and he does both but she did not really see in dig if you were going to do Mudvayne song and it be a music video I wish I would’ve been death blooms because death f’en blooms let’s do this shit
