Karela Gosht Recipe is a traditional Pakistani dish for lunch. Bitter gourd cooked with meat gives an ultimate fine taste when cooked together. Do give this karela gosht recipe a try in your lunch and let us know your feedback.
Ingredients:
Bitter gourd 1 kg
Salt to taste
Water as required
Ingredients for mutton:
Mutton 1/2 kg
Oil 1/2 cup
Onion (sliced) 2 cups
Tomatoes (chopped) 3
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp
Green coriander for garnish
Green chilies 3-4
Direction:
Peel off bitter gourd, deseed them and cut them into small pieces.
In a bowl add salt, bitter gourd and let them sit for 20 to 25 minutes.
Then add water and wash bitter gourd pieces in it.
Drain the water; take cheesecloth and squeeze all the extra water from bitter gourd.
In a pan heat oil and fry bitter gourd until light golden brown and set aside.
In another pot of water, add mutton and cook until fully cooked. Take it off.
In a pan heat oil, add onion and cook until translucent.
Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, salt, cumin powder, turmeric, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
Now add boiled mutton, mix it well and cook for 3 minutes.
Lastly add fried bitter gourd, green chilies and mix until well combined.
Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with roti.

Cooking time: 30-35 minutes
