Karen is literally probably the best singer in the world. The fact that she can do things with her voice that most can’t even when she is sick is just so fascinating! & to think she was doing runs and riffs back in the 80’s that ppl would consider “lit” today is proof that she is the truth!

@4:22 Oh wow... how does one out sing their-self? Karen nailed the ending of this as she did 15+ years ago but she made it seem like she just did it yesterday! When I first heard her 1997 debut album on cassette through my cousin, I immediately knew that Karen Clark Sheard's artistry was innovative. She reminds me of my mom in many ways, both are powerhouse authoritative conviction singers and delivers best when in the moment (anointing). Oh how I want the two to meet.

Xavier Smith my range is just as wide maybe a little wider than 5 octaves than now. Karen voice has her moments, but overall she knows exactly how to use every instrument lol. I also think she drinks lots lots of water thats her secret. Also probably green teas. Thats my secret green tea of all types, and ginger tea sometimes with honey but mostly without and all these type notes come out of me like crazy. Its vocal prep mostly!!!

Just ridiculous! This woman has little detectable change in her voice, and she's nearly in her mid 50s. I have a wider range than Karen--about five octaves--but at 36 years old, I can definitely tell that there are changes in my instrument simply due to getting older. Karen seems to be immune to that! How can she sound like she's ripping her voice to shreds with those growls and turn around and belt an A5 as clearly as a bell is beyond me. #Dead
