This is a completely crazy story, but last January 2022 my family and I were visiting relatives in a town in northern Kazakhstan, about 40 miles along the Irtysh river from Russian Siberia. There were political disturbances across the country, as a result of which we got stranded for two weeks in a Soviet "khrushchevka" -- and if you don't know what that is, google it. Oh yeah, and the internet went down! When the internet finally came back, this was the first song I looked up, and we played it every day for the rest of the time we were stuck there. Thank you, Karen Dalton!
