I would have asked to talk to the person in charge of the marina because if one employee told you that you could and another one said you couldn't, then just ask whoever is in charge if you can because, like you said, theirs no signs that say no fishing.

I agree but it is a DNR matter and the DNR don't take kindly to people being harassed hunting and fishing.

I fished a public pond with a buddy that's adjacent to an apartment complex but it's maintained and posted by the park district. We had a Karen that's harassed my friend before because his back casting with the fly rod concerned her. He squashed it pretty quickly last time. This time she wanted to run off 3 kids playing around the pond flipping sticks and small rocks in the pond, nothing near birds or aiming at fish. The kids ratted her out because they were "too close to her side of the pond". Remember public park, public maintained and the kids were not more than 10 feet from waters edge. My buddy confronted her, squashed the "her side of the pond " nonsense and shut her down with 1 question and 1 statement. What would you rather see them doing? Spray painting schools? And then...you know the village owns this pond and if you don't knock it off I'll call on you for harassment.... she went back inside....

If you look on the sign for the marina on your way in it's says fishing prohibited. But that cops don't come for anything nowadays. I'd fish on brother. @@wezalfish

That's what entitlement looks like right there. Nowhere near his boat and still bitching until he gets his way. What the fishermen are doing doesn't affect him at all and yet he still feels entitled enough to Force his will upon them just because he felt like it. As long as they have fishing licenses, they are allowed to fish any body of water that is not strictly prohibited in their state. The money they pay helps keep those waterways clean an accessable. They have just as much right to them as that boater with the fees that he also pays, but he does not own the water.

Angry boater: "I spend $$$ here. Kick these harmless fisherman out!" Spineless employee who doesn't feel like getting yelled at: "You are disturbing my customers with your infectious happiness fishing. Leave!" Terrible injustice but not much you can do on private property. Hopefully well mannered locals see this video and lodge a complaint with the marina. If you let Karen/Daren jackwads like this guy get his way, he will not stop with a couple innocent fisherman. Next he will go after people with older boats. People with smaller boats. Minorities he feels like should be able to afford boats. HE WILL make the marina lose money! It will be a trickle at first. Eventually, people will go somewhere else because the marina will get bad reviews. Kind of a long stretch I know. However, this is a common pattern.

It is just too bad that one can not sue for defamation over something like this, If you did and won then they would never allow any one to go onto any "private property". BTW many marinas do not allow their tenants to fish from their boats at dock. That is probably this guy's real drunken complaint.

Yes this is public marina. The guy that came over bought a slip in the private yacht club across the canal. Not even close to where we were fishing. His arguments weren't true at all saying there was line wrapped across his neck. We we there from 7am - 11pm and nobody else was fishing but us and we never casted towards that side once.

What makes it worse, is that Windsor Essex is surrounded by water and there's hardly any areas to fish. You see the all the shore videos fished from the exact same spots, every time. And to think I got permission from the marina itself that is okay, and still get kicked out. Extremely frustrating.
