I have a recording of a tiger's roar on my phone. For weeks, I practiced making a facial expression that looked like I was actually roaring. This was just for fun. Fast forward to my first day at work, I had a 20-something Karen start complaining at me for being too slow. I told her it's because the cash register was busted and refused to open. When she started yelling at me, I stealthily turned my phone up to maximum volume, put on the tiger roar recording, and made the facial expression. Needless to say, it TERRIFIED her (and probably a few other people). She thought I was actually roaring at her. "Are you done?" I asked, once the recording was over. She hastily nodded. I called my nearest coworker to help me get the cash register open. I put the bills in their place, and gave the Karen the change. She took the change and what she had bought, and hastily left. I've been known as "Tiger Man" at work ever since. No regrets. I even have that nickname on my name tag.

Decades ago, a Kroger store in a bad part of my home town was boycotted by the thugs who scared off the little old white ladies who lived nearby. Sales at that location almost doubled until the thugs realized that all they were doing was doing their shopping at another store from that chain that was closer to the Police station. It didn't go well for them before they ended the boycott, and not much better than afterwards because a police cruiser was always on patrol near that store after it ended. These same idiots had burnt down one of their stores in a race riot in the late '60s. Then they tried to sue the chain when they refused to build a new store on that site. Instead, it wend up on a state highway about two miles away, leaving them only their very overpriced, minority owned corner stores. A large part of that town is now gone, along with the businesses that hired these idiots. The total population has shrunk about 40%, and they have torn down over half of the school buildings.

I used to work for a tour operator in the UK. - My favourite 'Karen' letter I read, a woman went to India during the Indian summer time ( because it was cheap!). Spent the entire trip complaining to the tour guide,and on the return sent us a 30 page letter complaining about the heat,that the food smelt 'funny' and tasted strange,that no-one spoke english(including the other people on the same holiday) and that people on the street were disgusting for not wearing more clothes ! - Memorable letter as almost every word was spelt wrongly and was written in capitals with green ink,and with some casual racism thrown in for fun. - The tour operator's customer relations department offered a discount on her next holiday to India as a settlement.- Best response I ever read.

One lady left after waiting 10mins for the system to be fixed and when she left I heard her say “I’m never shopping at this market/store again.” This was roughly between 5-7pm and we where busy that me and two other CC had carts full of go-backs to do that we were telling customers that our system was down and not taking cards only cash. To answer your question, most people who disagree with BLM do so because of past violent protests, and don’t think that such destruction is necessary. As for people who disagree with the movement as a whole, I honestly am not entirely sure. You know the sad thing? I have multiple chronic medical problems (one of which includes asthma), my mother has similar illnesses, and I’m part of the chronic illness community on multiple social media forums as a way to cope. Ppl with actual medical problems either wear masks or if you have the immune disease that I do, you don’t go out much bc you can’t risk it. I grew up with a mother that had to monitor local flue/cold out breaks bc when we get sick, we can easily end up in the hospital. There are ppl that had to live the pandemic life long before covid and it’s sad that healthy ppl are using our medical problems as an excuse to not protect others that can’t physically protect themselves.
