I suppose it's nice that the "Karen" called the cleaning service, admitted what she had done and asked them to rehire the Mexican maid. But had I been the owner of that cleaning service, the very least I would have done would have been to tell that "Karen" to find herself another cleaning service, and that if she wished to avoid legal action, she would also have to provide monetary compensation for the wrongly dismissed maid for the time she was out of work. Depending on how agreeable she was, I might then have been on the phone with my lawyer to talk about a lawsuit and possibly pressing criminal charges. A business has to protect its reputation, and cleaning service customers who wrongly accuse its maids of stealing are bad for its reputation.
