They mixed up 'For Sale' with 'Open House viewing'. You can't just barge into a house that has a for sale sign in the yard. You have to call the realtor or the owner to schedule a tour of the house to see if you want it. An open house viewing means that the home is open to the public for a window of time so that everyone can wander around and see if the house is right for them.

the pay one is actually legitimately discrimination based on family status. Usually you'll hear it the other way round, that someone gets fewer hours or opportunities because they're pregnant or have kids, but saying someone should get less money because they *don't* have kids is fundamentally the same thing - discrimination based on family status.

I can relate to the 3rd story. I used to work at a skate center before they laid me off (I was replaced with a machine). I worked there for almost 2 years. There was this new worker that came in and he was younger than me (he was 15 and I was 16) and he worked the same position as me but he got paid 11-12 dollars an hour and I only got paid 9 an hour. Plus the hours too I only was able to work on Saturdays and when I ask my boss if I could have more hours he brushed it off and said “we will see” and never does. My coworker he went up to my boss and asked the same question couple weeks later and my boss said “sure” and he started working more hours. So later on I saw I was never on the schedule anymore and everytime I emailed my boss he would never email me back. I then found out by my dad (bc my brother goes there to skate) and my dad told me that they didn’t need me anymore and the places I most was. They put machines there.

Story 1: Okay, it really sounds to me like those old people are scouting for thieves, not because they want to potentially buy the house. If you seriously want to see the house, then call the realtor, don't try to break into the place or stalk the people living there. Even a realtor sign that says "Open House" doesnt give you the right to just casually look around. If they show up again, i would 100% call the police. Some older people like this just go into homes for sale to snoop around for valuables, and then letting other people know so that they can rob it. A lot of realtors are getting smarter to this and will end showings if people do stuff like that. Story 2: OP is not a jerk at all here, and May is 100% clueless if she thinks for a second that any of the OP's family is her business and that shell somehow be able to help the OP make amends with any of them. Its pretty clear the siblings want nothing to do with the OP, and vice versa, so why try and force interaction with them. People really need to stop "trying to help" with something that clearly does not need any kind of help with. Story 3: I'm a bit torn on this one. I'm willing to bet that there's some stuff not being told here. Was she being paid more solely because she has kids, or was there more that we arent privy to? Maybe experience at other jobs, or its what this lady asked for? Who knows. The OP likely should've been paid at least on par with this worker, especially since they were at this job longer and actually helped train her. Seniority doesn't always mean you'll be paid better. I think the boss couldve given the OP a raise with everything. Also, it really wasn't the OP's business on what this lady was being paid. Story 4: No way is the OP a jerk here... and i think, overall, the dad is the one that i say is the biggest jerk here. Eve and Zoe are bad enough for all their badmouthing on the OP's mom here... and i commend the OP for standing up for her mom here, well done. However, the dad is the biggest jerk here for feeding Eve and Zoe false information on the alimony payments and just keeping the money for himself. If anything, everyone should be mad at the dad here, not the OP. Story 5: Asking the niece to watch your autistic son on an emergency basis? No, not the jerk. Asking the niece to do it for free? That can be seen as a jerk move, at first. As for the niece, she's the jerk for demanding as much as she did, along with inadvertently getting the cat sick with her perfume... and she's definitely the jerk for getting others involved and trying to make it look like the OP was manipulating and gaslighting her. OP did no such thing. OP definitely doesn't owe her a hotel room. Screw the niece and the brother. Story 6: Your best friend is a huge jerk here for both cheating on his wife and asking the OP to keep this secret. I would not keep this secret for a second. This "friend" of yours is a complete dullard and hopefully the wife finds out about this soon. Cheating is NEVER okay.

A bit late--but I do think that in Story 2, "May" isn't entirely at fault here. She has no idea of the situation and it is likely that this is her genuine belief. Remember, she is his girlfriend's mother, and thus (hopefully I suppose) will eventually be his mother in law. She isn't entitled to the story, but has a right to ask.

@QuickManEXE
@QuickManEXE Ай бұрын
@@jasoncarpp7742 Okay, let me try and explain better: People like that look inside and outside the house, not because they are actually interested in buying the house, but they do things like look to see if there are security cameras or systems, unlocked windows and doors and easy entry points. Once inside a house, they'll look at rooms that have valuables inside and will actively look in cupboards, closets and drawers to see whats in them. They'll try act interested, but its pretty blatant that they are just looking for things. They will also try and see when the owners are and aren't home, so it will give them an idea when they can come back... which is what those people in this story did; they came back multiple times and tried to use an excuse that they were interested. There have been cases where people have had their for sale homes broken into, robbed and even vandalized just days after a viewing and generally its the people that were just there, either going back themselves or letting other people know what they saw.

On this last story, instead of you telling right away, give your friend an ultimatum....either tell your wife of your indiscretion or you will tell her. Give him a week to come clean. I wouldn't want to put myself ahead of him because that can cause more problems. If your friend is as good as you say, then he will do the right thing. If not, you are better off because it appears he has fallen away from your common values. I would not give it more than a week because it will put you in a bad position. Either way, his wife deserves to know the truth. If there is a true connection between them, they can work through this together. If you have a priest or a pastor, or even a therapist, tell them your dilemma and they can help you walk through this.

Story 3: Mamabear can relate, because she was a social worker for 15 years and some people who only just started were getting similar to higher pay then her. Not to mention getting first dips on holiday time and other things plus getting sick days because "Little Johnny or Little Susie were too sick to go to school and they couldn't get a sitter." That part is ok but not paying people accordingly is messed up, and nobody deserves that

3:15 1st story ( bare with me I had a tbi 2 years ago writting isn’t my best) so this happened around the beginning of this year. My aunt passed a little after my injury and my dad was in-charge of selling it for his parents ( my grand parents) well at the beginning of this year my grandfather passed away ( my dad’s dad) . So we go to his ceremony ( he was cremated) when we left my parents, my little brother and his wife , my dads mother , and I went to go eat at a local bbq place. While there and waiting for our food dad checks his phone and sees people inside his sister’s house walking around like it’s nothing . So we eat and leave to go check on the property they were gone . My dad and I cleared the house ( we are both with our local sheriffs office where we live, but no one is there . A deputy shows up dad and him talk to file the report ( nothing was missing). And the deputy starts asking neighbors if they know the people. A day later dad gets a call from the deputy saying they have the people in custody and were claiming to be looking to buy the house. Well they bought the house but after they spent the night in jail and got a trespassing charge lol. Literally signs was all over the property and doors saying to call my dad for a viewing of the house . O well .

10:32 So having kids is a life choice, not a disability that entitles you to more. If anyone supplements that income it’s usually local government, not the employer. God forbid you get paid based on merit, knowledge and overall experience in your field over someone who made the choice (irresponsibility or not) to take care of a child.

It’s NOT the government, it’s tax payers who shouldn’t have to. Welfare is completely unfair to the people who don’t screw their life up but get to pay for the l0$ers who do. It’s rewarding them for their poor decisions while the rest of us get to foot the bill.

the first story is super common when you are selling a house, there is a reason why you HAVE to go through the realtor, the realtor will weed out ppl like these, what they want to do is just look around for things that are stealable, then rob you when you are away when you are selling a house, you NEVER show other ppl around on your own, you always send them to your realtor and let them show the house, if they arent actually interested in buying the house, then the realtor will shut that down pretty fast

Story 1: Those people need to know what they can and can't do. If someone is living there, you can't just try and break in the look around. Story 2: The MIL needs to mind her own business. She is not going to mend things with your "family" like you said, they don't like you. The MIL has no idea what she's talking about, so she needs to stay out of it and shut up. Story 3: Just because she has children doesn't mean she should get payed more. Yes, she probably needs the help, but that is not how it works. OP is a much more valuable member there, they speak two languages, bringing in more people, and they've been working they longer. OP should be payed much more than he does right now. It doesn't matter how old you are or if you just got out of high school. You have been working there longer. Story 4: No, they don't know what they are talking about. Your dad was hiding things from them and didn't stop them from talking sh-t about your mom. They didn't know what they were talking about. It's your dads problem now. Story 5: Dude your niece is staying there for free, she could have just baby sit for you for that. Story 6: First of all, he cheated, you need to tell his wife. How is that not your first thought? He cheated and now he has to deal with the consequences. If the wife is fine with this then ok. It's her chose, but she needs to know!

Yeah, no, she shouldn't have been earning more than OP. Bilinguals are high-value employees, especially those with plenty of experience. "She needs the money," that's what government benefits like food stamps and child welfare checks are for. And believe me, she was definitely receiving those back then, since she's raising two kids. Especially if she's a single mother. Sounds to me like the boss had eyes for her, the bloody creep.
