A bit late in finding this technique but so impressed with it, thank you so much for this idea certainly saves buying specific products for iron on with knapkins.

Yes...I think this is a game changer for sure...makes it so easy. I have found though that when you put wet medium on top you have to be careful with a very light touch so you dont rip napkin ( it gets wet and weak) K

Great technique and a real game changer. I've found that matt medium is a much better sealant on top of the image if you want to paint it. You sound like you've got a heavy cold, so I hope you recover soon 😊

Yes...this makes things so easy. I always use matt medium on top..not a fan of Mod Podge.....You do have to be careful when putting wet medium on top....the napkin is still very delicate. Yes..both my husband and I were sick with covid, but have recovered now.

I see how this is helpful. Truthfully, though, I use napkins because I WANT the under layer to show; the layering, for me, is part of the design. So, gluing a napkin to plain white paper would remove the visible under layer. I do realize all these variations are good, depending on what you're aiming for.

Yes...it's great to have a variety of techniques so you can pick and choose specific to your needs....sometimes I want the texture that gluing a napkin gives so I wouldnt want to iron it...Thanks for watching.K

Hi Karen! I think your idea is BRILLIANT! I have been enjoying many of the ideas in your videos! I do have a question. Do you think the prepared iron decoupage sheets might work in a Minc machine/laminator... as long as it is possibly placed in between in a parchment and maybe a carrier sheet in order to protect the rollers on the inside of the machine? I tend to "think" a lot about techniques and shortcuts... lol. I love reinforcing the images on napkins for cards... been using label sheets, double-sided adhesive sheets, and other ways... think this is such a wonderful idea and time saver, especially if the sheets can be prepped before hand. TYSM for all that you share! I was even more thrilled to know that you are in Canada! 🥰😁🙃

I say give it a try and see....I am not familar with the laminator so have no direct knowledge. I've used the sheets a lot lately...and am quite happy with how easy and quick it is....I have noticed though that the napkin is still fragile and can rip when you put matte medium on top...so you have to be gentle and use a soft brush. Hi Karen! Just me again! I finally found some time to try what I mentioned above with your diy iron decoupage sheets with my napkins. I did a test run right now using my Minc machine. It worked like a charm! I am astounded! I did place the napkin with decoupaged cardstock with napkin on top in a parchment sleeve and then in the carrier sleeve. ;) Another suggestion that I know works is freezer paper. Basically your diy decoupage sheet acts the same as the freezer paper. The plastic like side is comparable to the dried glue on the cardstock@@KarenBurchill! TYSM for the wonderful idea! :)

Can you tell what side to mod pudge is on? I love this idea! I’m a new subscriber and so glad I found this channel!

Yes the side with mod podge is shiny. I typically use recycled pages so there is text on other side or alternatively you can mark it

I don’t have Modge Podge but I have Liquitex Matte Medium. Could it works? If not which other adhesive I could use for this technique? Thanks for sharing your art with us 🙂

You can use any adhesive. Decoupage. Mod podge. I’ve used matte medium as well but want to use up mod podge as I do t like it for other things

@@KarenBurchill ok. I was not sure that Matte Medium is an adhesive who can be reactivate with heat. Thanks

It's a bit too many steps for me. I just take A4 size sticker paper, remove the backing, stick the napkins on top and cut out.
