I have received a blessing from the pandemic, in the fact that I have discovered Professor Hunter, along with her many highly educated, talented, and professional guests, and hosts. More valuable information and gained knowledge than I have ever received. Knowledge and our history is wealth.

Dr Hunter you are absolutely right everyone should want to be free. With that being said it’s instinctive butt everyone ain’t able. You are only as free as society or the people around you allows you to be .

Exactly! Thank you! That was a million dollar question in the first 25 seconds, why are a free people begging for equality, equity, and in some cases, freedom? 1. Because that realization that you already have all these things happens in your spirit, if you're not properly aligned you won't find it. 2. Because some people still want their turn at bat regardless of the cost, so they perpetuate what is.

Wow! I so wanna know more! I mean, I’m constantly going on the ancestry website and also trying to talk to the elders of my family. I’ve already learned some amazing stories but I know I’ve only scratched a small surface. And as I learn about my people from back in the day, I also research what was going on in the time they lived. Imagine having access to what Mr. Perkins talked about. Truly amazing and inspiring. Thanks as always Prof. Hunter! 🙏🏾

...and the discovery of the specifics of our history is what frightens the powers that be. This is why our current president says the 1619 Project wants to rewrite "Our" history. He doesn't understand that "Our" history includes all of the stories of every black person that has lived here and how we have contributed to the progress and wealth of this country. This information is important for our children to understand why certain people are fighting so hard to keep this information secret and why it is so important for us to be a part of the political process.
@charlesjones23944 жыл бұрын
I agree with your statement. And perhaps we could consider creating something that will be beneficial in addition to participating in the political process (which, by the way, absolutely can be rigged). Therefore, should we also consider starting "Ancestral Gatherings" (meetings that are not open to the public, but are exclusively directed towards African Americans who care about protecting both our precious history and leaving a legacy for our priceless progeny)?

This is astonishing and beautiful. I love the idea of having plaques to honor and celebrate the memory of the Freedom Runners. These are the types of monuments that we should have, the reflection of history that makes us contemplate our past in relation to our present, and inspires us all to run, urgently, towards freedom. Just this weekend, I was reading Ta-Nahisi Coates' interview with Breonna Taylor's Mom. Both Breonna and her Mom echo that courage, that movement towards greater freedom - both were striving to make better lives for themselves - her Mom moving from Grand Rapids to Louisville to start a fresh life(in spite of everyone doubting her), her beautiful daughter working joyfully as an Emergency Room Tech with the dream of becoming an RN. That a death squad extinguished their earthly freedoms means we have a long way to go. It's hard for me to fathom the courage it would take to not just walk into the unknown for those Freedom Runners, but also knowing that there would be a horrible punishment if caught. Luckily, I live currently in a position in which all my material needs are met - I don't even need to make the decision between enslavement and subsistence survival in a swamp. So there's no excuse for inaction on my part. I will not forget you, Breonna.

Dr Sister REV. Hunter has done it again. THANK YOU. Before cell phones, Drums, Music, Seerers & Prophets 'channeled' the information to FREEDOM. NOW We have the internet & HATRIX managing our emotions, information& sight. Our common sense is outsourced to mankind rather than the Infinite Intelligence in the Universe. We back engineer this brilliance every day while thinking we invented/discovered Intelligence? THANK YOU for intelligent conversations to uplift HueManity to GODUS.

Here we see that, after acquiring a number of skills and thereby being equipped, one can "get the hell out of Dodge". We also see that there were policing organizations formed in order to keep you from escaping with those skills. As an individual who is currently stationed abroad.... this is a strong message. With freedom also comes responsibility. Thanking you again Karen, Drew and Bill. Do any of you think it is time for us to establish the first internationally competitive Black owned social media platform?.

Did the slaves really find freedom tho? Where in America is freedom? It’s in the mind or is it ? Love your show KH

Mark you are on it, one frees the mind FIRST and constantly seeks justice and fairness. This journey is never ending. This journey certainly does not end with reparations!!

We have plenty of slave memoirs that explain the terror that our ancestors endured and we are still fighting for freedom. We still do not have economic and political freedom. Case and point Corporate America and Business Start Up. We don’t have the economics and politics in place to make this happen appropriately

His ideas are wonderful. Yes walking reminders is a great idea. I love history and black shun history to some point. We shouldn't. But i dunno how to get people more engaged in our society or have a love of learning when its not empasized anywhere in our society! People want to forget the past I think which makes me troubled.
@cherylbass85234 жыл бұрын
I think those thar could would. Some stayed behind due to being hobbled or heath. Maybe due to children or provided distractions for thise who did run. It just seens that we only want to honor those that ran and not those that survived.

Hearing this makes me think of the end of Roots when Chicken George says, "Hear me ole African, the flesh of your flesh is free" A great opportunity to reach out and communicate with our ancestors and have them communicate with us. ...I also want to say that I appreciate the fact that those now who are well educated decided to be conscious. I grew up in the 80s when, although there were a few "conscious" people, many were barbershop talkers who were hold overs from the 70s. Many young people can't fathom it, but most people, regardless of color aspired to that Wall Street life, dreaming of either being Donald Trump or what they think his wives or girlfriends might be like. Thank goodness many today realize that whole life was a hoax so now are reaching out for real things. ...Now I don't have to HOPE Hakeem's Bookstore has that book I want. I can watch stuff like this and understand how I can be a vehicle for things myself.
