Been watching your videos the past few days. Love seeing the herds! They are so beautiful even if they are kind of scared up and dirty. A little suggestion when filming in Wyoming....Not much background music needed. The sounds of the State Bird the Meadowlark and the grasshoppers are a wonderful background music. 😁 Thank you for sharing your videos!

Thanks for watching Jodie. I think I only had one day of filming when the wind wasn't howling and ruining all my audio. I think it was my video on Traveler where I was able to get audio of the amazing birds singing. I tried! :) Thanks!

These horses are beautiful!! Foals are so cute!😍😍 I have a question: do dominant stallions have leader/main females?
@karenkingart11 ай бұрын
There is usually a lead mare who leads the band as the stallion drives them from the rear.

Absolutely beautiful! I live in the Northeast and to see the beautiful mountains and horses living free is such a treat. They should never be rounded up, it is discusting. Miles of traveling and living free plus they look so healthy and vibrant. I had no idea the reason for them being rounded up was cattle , that is interesting. Do you sell a Calendar of these scenes of mountains and the wild horses? I looked and didn't see one but I would love to purchase one to help spread the word. Thanks for sharing.

The cool looking paint is now living his life with his mare and foal at skydog sancturary, I believe his name is meastro now?
@karenkingart Жыл бұрын
The pinto stallion is Teton and he is living free for now. Looks like the BLM will remove all the horses from Salt Wells Creek this year. So sad.

@@karenkingart I only just saw this comment and boy did this confuse my brain I had to find a picture of meastro and the main difference seems to be that Teton has significantly less white on his left side than Meastro does. Both appear to have the same mane and tail colours as well as blue eyes but I believe Teton may also be a lot less bulky than the other stallion plus if Teton is still on the range.... Meastro also has a bald-white face where as Teton does not. Holy moly they are so similar at first glance!

Awesome! Thanks, Karen! I'm headed to Utah (Onaqui), Colorado Sand Wash/Little Book Cliffs) and Wyoming the first week in September. I've been to the Peaks and the Pryor herds before, but I'll be concentrating on a few HMA's in WY, CO and Utah. I will be visiting the Pilot Butte tour/White Mountain HMA, but was curious about Salt Wells Creek. Big place! I can see that in your video, but is there a specific location, area, or road that I can concentrate on, for better chances of seeing these bands? Appreciate any help you could give, about any of these HMA's. Feel free to send me a PM, too. I have many eastern wild horse herd videos on my channel (MD, VA, NC).

I hope you find lots of horses! Not very easy since Wyoming has rounded up so many. I found 0 horses at Pilot Butte. The best place I found horses at Salt Wells Creek was on road 32, about 30 miles east/south of Rock Springs off highway 430. Turn right off the highway onto gravel. All the best to you!

@@karenkingart Thank you, Karen! I have been to Oregon and only seen 4 wild horses on that HMA and in ID at Challis, I saw none. I'm trying my luck in several HMA's along the way. Appreciate your help!

@@timferryA1 Call ahead about the Pilot Butte. There were no horses there last June. I later heard they were all rounded up. Check before you go there.

@@karenkingart I did drive it before I went to the BLM corrals, in Rock Springs. Luckily, I see a herd of about 8 horses. They were a little too far out to get some decent shots, with my inferior camera at the moment. Still worth the drive to see though. I did have a chance encounter with a beautiful strawberry roan stallion on a different portion of the White Mountain HMA. Holy smokes, was he something! I then made my way to Green Mountain, which I had better success on. Planning this years trip soon!

Salt Wells Creeks Wyoming is used to be the home of the famous black wild stallion Goliath, his mate and reddish chestnut mare Red Lady and the rest of his herd until him and his family were captured and rounded up. But thankfully despite that Goliath, Red Lady and the his family have been reunited after they were rescued and took to the iconic Skydog wild horse sanctuary located in Oregon. Here's his story:kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYLYm2mhhtKgitE. Also Goliath was lucky that right after he reunited with his impregnated mare Red Lady, his last foal and chestnut colt named Bodhi was born.

I know it is so sad how many wild horses are being rounded up all over the west to make room for more cattle. Thanks for telling the story of Goliath and his family. I wish I could have seen him in the wild, but am glad he is safe an reunited with his band.

Hard to believe that with.all that public land there wasn't enough room for cattle & horses... 🤔 Honesty is still the best policy & really, people aren't stupid..... Better if the horses are left alone. Or if someone really wants to help take some bale's of hay to them on harsh winters n see they have water. God sees n He cares about ALL His creation.... 🙏❤️🤔🦅👍
