Preselection of your colors makes so much sense....having a myriad of colors available during the whole painting makes for confusion instead of making a reasonable number of choices do.

How are you attaching the pastel paper to your easel board? That looks handy.

I use artist tape and make hinges.....sticky side up and then tape the tabs down.

Love your work! Now I just need to learn not to fuss and paint too tight! Just one question though. When painting with water colour I always put masking tape around the borders but it seems this is not done with pastels. Is there a reason for this?

It seems to be a personal choice. I prefer tape hinges which work fine to hold the paper down without using a lot of tape!
