Today's video is later than usual. I'm just back from holidays since last night so I recorded and edited today. It's an update on the grass situation which isn't looking good and I tackle the silage wrap for recycling.

for mental health reasons every farmer needs to have a break away to recharge and family reasons

We took one week off every year after harvesting or after planting. Our neighboring farm family watched over our livestock as we did in return for one week watching over their livestock.

I'm always jealous of the farming community for their community spirit. If someone is in trouble then neighbours always spring into action to help. I'm saddened to hear about those comments. You all have something so special look after it. Lift each other up Don't put each other down. ❤❤❤

Another great video Karen, as for the reversing the trailer you're not as bad as you think. I know a lot of people who couldn't even get it in the door. Every farmer deserves a holiday, ploughing match, Tullamore, Balmoral, or a week abroad. The ones that are commenting probably are 5 days a week 9 to 5 workers.

Ur doing fine with the reversing, practice is the key, but Ur not as bad as you think. I'd say you would manage it better with the 390, ud have a better view sitting higher up, & the mirrors would help also, glad you enjoyed your holiday
@elginsparrowhawk72034 сағат бұрын
Not necessarily, two wheel drive opposed to four. If the 135 has power steering and it’s light on the steering could be the better tool for the job.Turning circle is also better on a two wheel drive. Mirrors are useful but quite often can be broken and no use at all! You can always use seams in the concrete,roof centres/rafters/beams etc. Best to use low box and a few revs set on hand throttle rather than using foot throttle. If the trailer tips, you could part tip it(lift the trailer body slightly) so you can see behind.Not sure if it had a backboard? You just need more practice and you will get better at it.

No use putting down fertilizer w/o water (rain!) Glad you had a "grand" time in Greece (your word, not mine---I don't talk like that..) but at 28 degrees C. we're chilly and startin' to put on jackets here in Fl. Always enjoy your videos. Try a bit of 34-0-0 on your pasture, it might just work.

Take no notice of the people making these stupid comments. You work a full time job and then do the farming after that so if you can take the odd break go for it. These people either don’t work or work 8 hours a day 5 days a week and have the cheek to complain about not having enough paid holidays! 🤬. Great to see you back

Get someone to check your wheelbearing right on the trailer if you are looking back its slightly lower angle than other might be your noise plus ruin your chances of reversing easily like having a break on a wheel does that make sense won't turn as well as the intact bearing. Lamp at night and look for yourself the numbers of rabbits 🐇 it will effect your grazing and regrowth they like younger fresher grass coming out more often early morning evening and night they move from wet to dry the rabbits like having a few extra cattle on the farm

Another great video Karen, it is a complete godsend to get away on holiday & nights away and going to the ploughing is another great event. Dont be fretting about the trailer, its a skill that takes practice. Want the trailer to go right, lock the tractor to the left, and vice versa. Looks alright to me. Did you get it into the shed in the first place which looks tight for anyone ? Trailer sits high on the chassis.....you need a break, some dont take any, which cant be good.

@PeterJohnston-d8c5 сағат бұрын
Stop over- thinking when you reverse your trailer, line up where you want to be then just watch the back of the trailer, the steering will come with practice. Everyone needs a break from the daily routine, agri shows are great for socialising and just being with other people, too many farmers are isolated for too much of their time

Just a thought the noise you heard taking the trailer out of the shed maybe a wheel bearing on your trailer i though when you were backing into the cattle shed that the left hand wheel was leaning in at the top i maybe worth checking
@richardwilkinson72734 сағат бұрын
All right I'm going to tell you a little secret when you are backing a trailer put your hand at the bottom the steering wheel I promise you it will make it easier to back together give it a try

You need to get a loader for the 390
@michaelking92545 сағат бұрын
Reversing a trailer is not easy. I think you need to get the left and right aspect out of your mind. Try using your mirrors and when you see the trailer moving in a particular direction turn the steering wheel slightly in that same direction. You may find it easier if you turn the wheel constantly from left to right a little bit at a time as you reverse in a straight line. But practice is the name of the game. Good luck.

There will always be those who like to knock, even when there is nothing to knock, those people are sad. On a good note, great to it greening up nicely for you, after the work put into it :) Keep on keeping on.
@diederikvandedijk7 сағат бұрын
I remember when I was learning to back up a trailer, I would look at the front wheels and just point them in the direction the trailer has to go. This is so easy to see that you don't need to think hard at all and get confused or anything like that. Also i practiced a lot with a toy tractor. Worked for me anyway.
