I mean if you really....really want to challenge yourself. Do a 10,000 piece version of that heat based puzzle were you had to constantly run a hair dryer or heated item on it to see the color gradient. Then had to assemble it on a light board because there were so many false fits. Im sure you would LOVE to do that but in 10,000 pieces. Ok I had my Ultra funny joke that made you want to throw your phone in the trash can and quit responding to fans all together. But seriously do something fun with a lot of colors. You don't have to challenge yourself with every puzzle.

Also, I genuinely teared up a little when you re-did that clip with the then-Karen as the now-Karen posing with the puzzle box. That version of you would probably be mind-blown to hear where your puzzle hobby has led you - to a community of a decently sized city watching you do crazier and crazier puzzles and earning a living doing that. How wild is life!

For longer than I've been alive, my family used to do a few puzzles together every Christmas. 8-12 of us would get together for the holidays and spend a little time here and there working on puzzles over a period of two weeks. That all ended after we got this puzzle. After the third day all but 3 of us quit working on it. It was too tough and no longer fun after completing the center. Didn't have a table large enough and ended up splitting it into three sections. We had all of the same problems you had with the border and false fits. Took us nearly two weeks to complete it. Near the end, with all the holes filled I wanted to call it done, but my grandfather went over it with a flashlight just like you did, finding all? the mistakes. The next two years no one wanted to help me do a puzzle. After that, family Christmases ended. Found your channel yesterday. Nice to see people still enjoy puzzles.

We do a lot of puzzles in our home. We get a lot of puzzles second hand and like you I don’t care if a piece or two are missing. I would love to do this puzzle but the PURPLE would be overwhelming to a point. Between a dog who loves to eat the pieces and a toddler, I’m not sure it would ever be finished. My wife and teenager would start it but not sure they’d stick with it once the sky was the only thing left. Our son refuses to do boarders and jumps to the first two pieces he finds that match. I’m glad it’s something we all love as a family. Our toddler, she loves puzzles and does several a day. So far the largest by count was a 2500 piece puzzle. I’m glad we stumbled on your channel. Looking forward to seeing your next puzzle.

I don't even know how you did. You're a genius. I'm in awe. Not 0,000001% of us here would be able to do it. Not only does it takes skills, but it takes courage, perseverance, patience. I know we can move mountains when we have passion for something but still, this is incredible. The few people on Earth who have managed to do this puzzle must have done it in a year or something..... Just managing to finish it is already an amazing feat. The fact that you did it in less than 100 hours is beyond amazing. I guess the average finish time is 500 hours for a beast puzzle like this lol. The amount of sorting and of patience is exhausting just to think of.

I think the false fits added a lot to the frustration with this puzzle. Yes, huge sections of one color are hard, but it's not like you haven't done plenty of monocromatic or gradient puzzles or boring sections in other large puzzles before. If you just have to try them once, that's still a lot of work, but feels satisfying once you find a piece. But here, there were pieces up until the very end you had to change around and pull out again until you had a "good enough" solution, and that feels like ketchup puzzle all over again.

Congrats on finishing! While Purple is my favorite color, there is no way that I'd do this puzzle! The sky is ridiculously hard! I kind of feel like once puzzles get to a certain size, with repeated cuts and very little detail, the puzzle company should put either letters or some kind of detail on the back side so you can flip a piece and go, nope, this is the wrong spot. That way if you want to use it, you can, if you want the difficulty, you can ignore it. I watched another puzzler do the giant museum puzzle and she did each section as designed (didn't mix them up) and still had so many false fits that in the end, she couldn't put the sections together because of them. And at the size of the puzzle, not being able to connect it seems to defeat the whole point! I think I'll stick to 2000 and under! :) Thank you for sharing your journey, Karen! It was a fun one to watch.

The repeated cut is the absolute biggest argument against ever doing a complete mix. Every other part of the process, while daunting, still seems surmountable, but having to continually be weary of pieces with almost practically identical cuts and color... nope, that would just drive me insane. :)

I've only been following you since you started the zodiac puzzle and in that time I have become such a fan. I couldn't wait for this update! Been checking KZbin compulsively for days and now it's here! And it's an hour long! I'm off to get cosy with a cup of tea and watch you conquer your nemesis😅

I remember watching 24 000 piece puzzle video and when you finished it, it felt so amazing I feel the same thing now, watching those videos come out real time instead of watching a recording of many videos back then

Rather than a flash light, I bought a reading lamp that is able to move at almost every joint! The high book light is perfect for jigsaws and makes areas with lots of dark colours much easier to see the differences in shades! Might be worth investing so you don’t need to hold onto the flashlight all the time! I also find in the UK our weather means we don’t have great natural light most of the yr so my lamp gets used so often! It looks amazing, I’m not sure I’d have the patience though! 1500 has been my limit so far but I might try something a little bigger! Any suggestions for good large jigsaws for beginners (the size I mean)? Thanks

I'm so impressed by this! And so happy that I watched Karen doing this puzzle because I had been thinking about getting it myself but those false fits would have made me throw a fit. If you need to repeat the cut, you cannot have a near repeat of the image too.

OMG this must've been the most satisfying video I've ever seen on KZbin! As someone who entertains myself with only 1000 or 1500 piece puzzles, I can say for sure that I'd never be ready for such a huge challenge. Very well done and thank you for sharing this journey with us 😊.

I'm with you on missing pieces; you have to let that stuff go. I enjoyed watching *you* do this puzzle, I would never (too color blind, even the flashlight wouldn't help me). I suggest a celebratory dinner or dessert buffet on that dining room table--tacos or make your own ice cream sundae. Congratulations!

I love your shirt from Day 14/Final outro - it was very perfect for this puzzle. 💜 I am hoping for an 18,000 for Spring 2024. I cannot see myself ever doing the Zodiac one. I do have 18,000 (Magical Bookcase, Paris, Star Wars) plus 32,000 New York waiting for me, for the day my last two children have moved out and I can retire.

It was fun watching you do this puzzle. I'm starting to branch out into larger piece count puzzles and watching your channel has helped me understand the image has a massive impact on how challenging it will be. I was also given the advice of choosing a brand you are already familiar with.

Oh Awesome! Bought some popcorn earlier today on a whim. I am SO ready for this video! (adding lines while watching) I am always amazed how many layers deep the sorting and strategizing can go. The sorting section of the video made 100% sense, and blew my mind. And then the false fits! The backup strategies you came up with with the flashlight, puzzlecut and observation were just a skill to behold. As a problem and puzzle-solver (in the non-jigsaw sense) I applaud you 👏 . It appears true puzzle masters solve the edge last 😆. Aw man with the last pieces drama you were robbed of the satisfaction of the final piece 😥. GG for finishing! It's quite the realization how big the puzzle really is if your traditional Karen-Full-Puzzle-Swoosh can't even cover half the puzzle 😆. Also once again big props to Katie for the stats! I have a feeling that in about 10 years you'll get an itch in your fingers and you'll make a video that starts with the soundbyte at 50:28 to prove it wrong 😄. The plottwist at 51:50 hit me like a brick! I don't care about the missing pieces either. The fact that it wasn't noticeable for the viewers after you put the final piece in proves that. I certainly didn't notice. I think it's similar to how one's puzzling progress can never be "having solved exactly one tile" (becaus you need two for progress), few individual missing pieces are no biggie. Omg 55:40 melts my heart! No I don't think I can do a 9000 piece puzzle, I'd run out of air and turn purple 😆.

One more comment, maybe you can get like a huge buzzer button to whack when you insert the final piece, to stop the timer, start some music or soundbite, and add to the sense of satisfaction of finishing a puzzle. Maybe you can get one in Purple

I've done this puzzle and remember well the struggle to finish all that purple sky. But I did it in the two halves. I love Penfound's art for this puzzle, and it's clear there were some great improvements if you compare it to say the 18000 Tropical Impressions to have more variation and interest, but your idea of more details would have been lovely. Watching you do this has not inspired me to tackle it all at once. But I do also own Underwater Paradise, and I think that might be my first attempt to do all 9000 pieces in one go! Congrats on finishing this one! Looking forward to your next big puzzle project next year!

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Please excuse me for speaking in Swiftie language, but I can’t switch that part of my brain off right now. You’re like the Puzzle world’s Taylor and we just saw the first leg of the Eras Tour. The editing, music, humour, calculations, statistics, guessing the hours and minutes, was just amazing! I squealed when I saw the footage of Puzzle Camp! ❤ I had thought you were not going to show more of it than you did on Instagram because it was private fun with friends. It felt like you surprised-played my favourite song. It really felt like you said you were _never ever getting back together_ with that puzzle. I love love loved your reconnection with the first version of the puzzle solve, but I loved the attention to detail with the Karen’s Version. I know myself _all too well_ to know I cannot even attempt this puzzle. It’s _bigger than the whole sky_ and you are totally _fearless_ for doing these giant puzzles and I absolutely adore you for it. Now we sing _long live_ and you can have your well deserved glass of wine. For this crazy comment of mine I’ll use the code word _lavender haze_ ❤
