Kargil Vijay Diwas : 26 जुलाई 1999 को भारत ने पाकिस्तान के सैनिकों को हराकर कारगिल की लड़ाई जीती थी। तभी से इस दिन को कारगिल विजय दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। 84 दिनों तक चले इस युद्ध में भारतीय सेना के 527 जवान शहीद हुए थे, जबकि 1,363 घायल हुए थे। वहीं पाकिस्तान के 400 से अधिक सैनिक मारे गए।
