Young people expect to be visually and acoustically bombarded now by any kind of entertainment. They do not want to (and perhaps can't?) put any effort, focus or concentration into the experience. So they can't relate to this kind of music at all. They think rap is music! Perhaps I have overstated it, but it's definitely the trend and getting increasingly common. Some of the downvotes are as you said, from haters, or course - probably hate themselves as well.

@@TKO67 I do understand the piano enough to have a discussion about it. I was never great but I did play four instruments, including piano. I agree there is a base level of talent necessary to excel at music, including piano. However, that base level is readily available throughout our population. I believe what separates the normal pianists from the elite is not talent, but work ethic, and I find it insulting to those who have put in the effort to achieve this level of performance to suggest that they were simply handed their talent as a gift from God, as opposed to developing it through dedication to their craft. The same goes for athletes. The difference between the elite baseball player and the guy who fizzled out in college is almost never talent. And the "work" isn't necessarily "harder" work, it's smarter work. Knowing how to train physically and mentally to achieve peak performance.

@Terrance Baptiste you are entitled to YOUR opinion, but PLEASE don't make this out to be one of "those" post. This post reads that the people are "Stunned". So many didn't appear "stunned" they appeared BUSY. Two different things. When you see PEOPLE....you too will be too busy to see color, disabilities, economic status...etc. Try it. Even if you don't get the response you had hoped for....You will be the change that you wish to see in this crazy World. God loves you....and I do too... No Matter What!

Exquisite music. My wife is a piano teacher. She has private students and studio students. So I've heard a lot of piano playing through the years. It's a grand instrument. But here's the thing: It's never grand until some talent like yours gives it a voice. Play on playa!
