"She's still your sister." Why do people feel that you have to remained chained to people because of an accident of birth? The sister Karina is one gigantic, selfish millstone to be expected to bear, and watching the parents repeatedly choose her over another child and grandchildren would be painful. So many enabling parents favor the addict over the rest of the family. I would have walked out of their life long before it got to this point. I don't blame the younger sister at all. Karina admits she wanted attention as a kid and she got more when she was in hospital. She sits in the wheelchair when there's no reason for her to be. An attention seeking adult sibling who takes all the time of the parents would drive me up the wall. Maybe in that situation the mom had to go for the appointment so her being upset about that wouldn't be warranted, but if it's as often as younger sister implied then I would get the frustration. The family is caring for the adult and missing milestones of their grandkids. A shame so I hope things change and she gets out the damn chair (not finished the ep yet)

Exactly. Was thinking the same. I can understand her sisters frustration. Karina is a spoiled selfish brat.. knows it.. and gloats at her little sister. You can see the satisfaction Karina gets.. it’s all over her face. She was so used to being spoiled..(or wanted to be)..and wanted all the attention. Then she got healthy. When those grand babies came along at first.. her parents were probably overjoyed. She had to find SOME way of being selfish and taking even that away from her little sister.. so she moved back in with her parents.. got surgeries she knew was a waste just for attention.. (that her parents PAID for).. then came the wheelchair, etc.. UUGH.. Karina has been blessed with a GOOD LIFE.. she’s just selfish and manipulative. She’s also probably resentful of her little sister for having a life and children. She’s messed up.. and there’s no reason for her to be. Sometimes people are just spiteful and selfish.. for no reason. It’s just their toxic nature. People on here said she also had an affair with another woman’s husband as well.. Her whole life has been her sister first and now her children aren’t allowed to have their grandparents in their life because her sister can’t take care of herself. With Karina talking about needing support from family, it reminds me of my own VSG experience. My dad literally prayed over whether or not i should have the surgery (I'd already decided, so who knows why he did that). Family went with me to the surgical ward and visited for all of two hours in the two days i was there. The surgeon asked me to stay nearby, and my dad tried to insist on driving me straight home after, 2 hours away, so i had to find a hotel nearby and pay for it for a week out of my pocket. My sister stayed with me, thank goodness. When they drove me back to my place, my dad stopped at a mcdonalds drive thru and insisted on him and my sister eating fast food in the car next to me whilst i was still on a liquid diet. Since then, its been me myself and I. I've stalled recently, so i need to work that out, but that is up to me. I lost 120lbs, so I can keep going. Help is good, and I'm glad for the help I have had, mainly from my siblings, but its up to me

I definitely disagree with Sean's take on the sister's anger and supposed pettiness. For having had 2 sisters who are using my parents to their benefit all the time, even without kids or responsibilities, just because they can't "adult", it gets so frustrating. They've missed crucial events in my life and my children's lives because my sisters always "need" them. And just like Karina, they couldn't care less what that did to me. It's not mature or Christian to be bitter like this, but trust me, it's hard.

I agree. However, I didn’t hear anything in her story that equaled victimization. It seems like she became so accustomed to being the center of attention due to her being sick when she was younger, she then saw losing that level of attention as being victimization. It’s almost like her remaining morbidly obese is her way, either consciously or subconsciously, to acquire that level of attention again.
@julieandrews11937 ай бұрын
@@whosaidthat9265 her being sick would be traumatic. I think the attention she received from being sick, made her feel like even more of a victim. On top of that kids crave attention, and that’s how she learned to get it.

We all have things we need to work on, but if you can't admit that you have faults, then you can't get better.
