I'm not pitting them against each other because I think they were both gorgeous and Marilyn is Marilyn- nobody can ever be her but facially I think Jane was actually way prettier. She was hired by 20th Century Fox to be a threat to MM who had walked out and was resisting signing a new contract. So Jayne was hired only to be a replacement. Fox never really invested much in her after the first few films. Jayne ran with it and played it to the hilt and it payed off for awhile but Fox lost interest and put her in second rate films and then let her go in early 1962 before MM's death when Jayne was still only 29.

I literally just learned that.... Marilyn Monroe thought she was basically a copycat and didn't like her 🤣 and was even photographed snubbing Jane at a party, like Mariah Carey did JLo "I don't know her" style LMFAOOO.
