My late father in law was Mr. Sinatra's French chef. I never met Mr. Sinatra in person, but he always sent me a Christmas bag full of goodies, and you would not believe how amazing the stuff was. He was very private and reclusive then, he was sick a lot. But he was always very kind and generous, yes, to his employees and their families.

I remember hearing Frank Sinatra for the first time and it was "Luck Be A Lady" as Robin Williams is getting ready to be Mrs.Doubtfire. Since then, I have listened to so much of his music and sung "My Way" (my favorite song) and just gotten into his movies. And when I say, this one movie he did (Pal Joey), the camera pin to him and his eyes, whew I definitely understand why women fell for him; that and his charisma. My fascination with Sinatra, and I think other peoples also, is that, love him or hate him, he did not live a half-assed life, full of compromises, as most of us do. He went "for the gold," failed, reinvented himself, and went for the gold again. From James Kaplan's definitive two-volume biography of "The Chairman," I was amazed to learn how many people loved/hated him but could never distance themselves, no matter how much he abused them. I think that speaks to the human quality of wanting to be around a "do-er," if we're not up to the challenge of being one ourselves. If for no other reason the Sinatra legend will endure.

I love Sinatra. He was my Dad's favorite. I admired him for fighting racism. I saw another biography where he asked a mob boss to stop the making of the movie the Godfather, because he didn't like the way the character who was based on him, was portrayed. I know Frank is an icon, but his huge popularity was a bit before my time. I admire his singing and his acting. What turned me off was this tough guy image and his connection to the mob. That said, he's an enormous talent. P.S. I always thought his marriage to Mia was odd. Not for the age difference. But for her hippy free spirit marriage to a controlling older man. So have I, for reasons not always clear to me. After taking up singing, my first go-to song was "I've Got You Under My Skin." Found out years later, this possibly-career-defining epic had been recorded by The Chairman and Nelson Riddle upstairs at the KHJ radio studio on Melrose Ave. in LA where I was an intern in the mid-'70's. If you're interested, a few years ago Vanity Fair magazine had a fascinating backstory article on how this song came into being. Talk about a "perfect storm" of mega-talents: Sinatra, Riddle, and a iconic trombonist named Milt Barnhart.

It was a dream realized to see him live. I always felt Ava Gardner was the true and real love of his life. There will never be another Chairman of the Board--Mr. Frank Sinatra!! That was J.Paul Getty III, who was kidnapped and had his ear cut off! He had lasting trauma and had many health problems. Frank Sinatra Jr. was kidnapped but wasn't harmed physically, but I'm sure he was quite traumatized by that terrible experience! He did successfully sue one of his kidnappers to prevent a book he was trying to publish about the kidnapping!

Also, read that during the infamous Altamont concert in 1969 (?) when an attendee was stabbed to death by Hell's Angels in full view of the Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, that promoters had a tense, aggressive, primed-for-an-explosion crowd of some 200,000 on hand. He was murdered imo by his manager and his fake half Asian half white step sister got full control of his estate while his REAL BIOLOGICAL BROTHER ended up with nothing. Leon Hendrix fought for his brothers estate in court but too many crooked lawyers and corruption. It’s a very tragic story. Also Jimi Hendrix was really a unique and beautiful soul playing electric guitar and rock music in a environment surrounded by white musicians. He was unique and an icon. He was the greatest guitar player of all time imo. My high school sweethearts mother grew up in Hoboken like Frank did and would tell us how he would sing to the girls on his stoops of the apartments and houses and sing to them when he was a young teenager. I have loved his work but have issues with his personal life which does detract from the love of his talent. It’s heartbreaking when you’ve only seen the censored public side of a celebrity and then find out the darkness behind the fabricated persona. Frank Sinatra was one of my childhood heroes as a child, and I'm still a huge fan of his work as an outstanding jazz vocalist. I've also read at least half a dozen biographies about him. It's safe to say that I'm a Sinatra aficionado! Frank was irreplaceable as an icon! As a Black man, I was always impressed that he was an activist long before it was fashionable! I didn't care about his jokes about Black people during the RAT PACK years. Because he made changes to the advancement of Black people. I'm a kid from Brooklyn, so I'm not sensitive about these matters. Frank Sinatra was also a man's man and had mad swagger! There are cats in the hip-hop game today that are still trying to emulate his persona and Flava! The mafia association gave him so much danger and power! I also loved the fact that he was banging the finest broads in the world! Long live the legend of Francis Albert Sinatra!

The piece you did on Frank Sinatra's life and career was very interesting, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I do believe that his life and exploits is so extensive, that you should include a part 2 video in the future and even speak on his affiliation with other unmentioned starlets, the Kennedys and also his Rat Pack Buddies and etc. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
