I've been looking for this special performance on New Year's Eve 1997/98 for many years now. I had it taped on VHS but - you know... modern technology overran all that. The staging/set/costumes were not as good as in the New York Opera version of the year before (1996) but Bo Skovhus made an outstanding Danilo. His performance was top notch! Sadly, the lady playing Valencienne here was on the weaker side, in singing and espcecially in acting. Her portrayal of Valencienne came across as very woodenly.
