The fantastic idea behind An idiot abroad, in my opinion is not that its simply about hurting, or exclusively ridiculing Karl. Its the idea of taking a small and content man, insular but a genuinely good person at heart and engaging them in big things. not just pushing someone out of their comfort zone and laughing at their discomfort ( albeit I'd be a liar if I wasn't selfishly amused at all of it) but exposing someone who would have never taken the initiative on their own to do incredible things and experiences....and occasionally asking them to try goat penis and decade old rotten fish. And for what its worth he reminds me more of Bilbo Baggins than Homer Simpson. The man is such a sport time and time again, and while I thank Ricky and Steve for acknowledging the incredible potential for entertainment maybe philosophical areas as well, I wish they would give Karl a well, well deserved moment in the sun

Karl Pilkington is not an idiot. He just has a different outlook to stuff, while his ideas and stuff might seem ridiculous they do have logic behind them. I kinda think I'm a bit like him. Way back in Ricky Gervais' show on XFM they investigated his O Level results because he couldn't remember them, and found out History was the only one he sat, and he got an E in it XD He got sort of pissed at Ricky and Steve for finding out and saying it on Radio so it's funny he mentioned it on national TV lol.
