Jesus Christ. He was clearly very sad about talking about Anton, and they're just like "how bout a game?"

This clip perfectly encapsulates the emotional disconnect of the media, better than "Nightcrawler" ever could. "You and the cast were close, right? Let's talk about the loss of your friend. What did he mean to you?" *Karl responds with audible ache and emotion "alright, let's play a game!!!"

That was really poor interviewing. To bring up the tragic death of Anton then go 'okay enough of this heartfelt sentiment, let's go straight to the game!' You guys do realise he was a good friend of his, right?

TheHauntedMansionFan12345 It's a descriptive word in which i have applied to these particular people on this particular subject. Vulgarity plays no part here. Wit is not required in this situation. Why would i need a witty quip for these two idiots? Wit is not needed here. At all. It doesn't suit every situation.

Anton Yelchin was one of the few rising actors who I felt really oozed classic charisma. He hasn't always played nice guys, yet he actually always came across as a stand up dude - The sort you'd identify, and root for, even if he was written in a less than sympathetic role.

Joseph Carl , I know I'm 3 years late , but the way they also wanted to play a game right after talking about his death the way they just went right into that so glibly was just so disgusting .

The transitions in interviews from asking about Anton to other questions are so cringey. Like you make him feel that pain and loss and have him talk about it then you are like "Time for a game!" Just weird.

Actually, I liked that and I liked Urban's statement about Yelchin's death. It was brief, decent and classy. It didn't revel and roll around in the tragedy of his death, which media and studios often like to do, because it generates a strong emotional response and big interest (see: Heath Ledger, Paul Walker). The question is unavoidable, but spending too much time on it is exploitive and it basically tries to cash in on the death. It's cheap. Urban acknowledged it and then we carried on, because that's how life is. Maybe they could have followed the question with something else than a game, but this was a refreshingly subdued approach to a celebrity death compared to the circus that usually surrounds one.

"So a guy died who was in your movie right? Hmm, yeah, tough. Say, wanna play a game now?" Hard to see why people give Kathy Lee and Hoda a hard time for being vacuous, superficial, vapid, bereft-of-depth examples of all that is wrong with modern media...

R.I.P. Anthon Yelchin, you will be missed. So sad to see this interview. Like "yep, yep, mhmm, okay, yeah... alright now let's lighten the mood with this silly game that makes talking about a beloved lost cast member seem so insanely trivial!" Katie Lee and Hoda are awful. That's not the first time they've screwed up. Remember when they asked Martin Short about his wife, not knowing she passed away? Classy.

Horrific interview. Not only did the two women speak over one another, but between them, they also interrupted Karl Urban seven times in the two minutes and fifty one seconds of this video I actually watched. The transitions were so jarring & they made it painfully obvious that they had a list of topics they'd been told to hit, which means the tragic passing of their guest's friend was just another thing the execs wanted a scoop on.

Glad I read the comments before watching this. Doing a press tour so soon after must have been gruelling. Colbert practically talking over Quinto first time he spoke publically about Anton...Pegg being ribbed about what a huge nerd he is on a British chat show, three days after it happened, a good sport as always but looking grey and worn...I stopped watching after that. They've all been absolute pros of course, but it's just painful to see.
