@judybarber7043 I am new to Rudolf Steiner. I heard of him several years ago from a spiritual Master, the Master mentioned of Rudolph Steiner on several occasions. Didn't really read up (mostly listening on KZbin Rudolf Steiner Audio Press) of his teachings until recently. Maybe you can ask those who know of him, speak of his life and tell us more of his life. Does he have any living relatives? Did he said why he didn't bring children into the world? Does he gave any hint who his past lives were and will he incarnate again in the future? If so, do we have any idea will his spirit come back to earth again? Or was it this is his last incarnation? Are there anyone who have been living his teachings has reached the heights of his greatness? Does he communes with Christ when he was alive? How often did he meditate? What was his childhood like? Did he spent his youth in contemplation of the Divine world? What's the difference between Lucifer and Ahriman? Are they one and the same? Now that he left his physical body, where is he now? Does his spirit work with Christ and dwell in the sun? Are there anyone that can read the Akashic record?

Until I came across Rudolph Steiner, I didn’t think that astrology has any place within the Christian religious outlook, or a pantheistic viewpoint of God. It makes sense, and it is beneficial to synchronize outlooks to gain a broader wisdom. There are many signs in the stars, many correlations with circumstances on earth and celestial bodies. Kings 17:16 refers to the ‘celestial army’ that was adored with sacrifices in place of worshipping God as “as precepts of him” were abandoned.

I often wondered that if all was created by god, then why ignore any aspects of it? It’s only been through deliberate means and secrecy that we are given parameters by which to discover the mysteries of the divine.

And again in one of his last lectures he mentions about the fact that Abraham has to give next impulse to reverse the materialism ..( I will find the link and post it when I find it ) he dosent directly say that but hints in his usual style …

@@warmbreeze11 he mentions the fact that any individual who has done a great deed for the spiritual world has to do a deed that seems apparently opposite to what he /she did earlier to counter balance the karma ..following that logic it makes sense that to strengthen the ego humanity had to develop intellect and blur the clairvoyance .once that was achieved thru monotheism the counter balance to it has to be given by the same individuality .that’s penetrating the spiritual world using the developed intellect so when clairvoyance develops back in the sixth epoch we gain it thru our will and clarity .

Have you read Owen Barfield? I think his work is a really good way into Steiner, not that his work is that easy either. But I agree that it is very hard to make a judgement on Steiner. He talks with assurance about massive cosmic timescales and strange spiritual influences which for the most part you can't really verify. But on the other hand you don't really get the impression of someone unhinged, there is an assurance in his work and he was able to design and get constructed two Goetheanums, he lead the Anthroposophical movement, founded a system of education and farming. I think the right approach is to with hold judgement on his overtly spiritual works, maybe read from them from time to time. But focus on his earlier theories of cognition in The Theory of Knowledge Implicit in Goethe's World Conception and The Philosophy of Freedom. His Autobiography is also well worth reading. These are really well supplemented by Owen Barfield's works.

I think what lead me to Rudolf steiner was a lecture I heard online by john david ebert, on steiner. then of course, I was doing philosophy and asking various questions because of some weird experiences I had, having grown in a completely materialistic and atheist family and environment and upbringing. the tremendous plus about steiner's 'angle' about the occult, is that he doesn't leave the intellect behind. and says there is no way you can do all this properly without the intellect. thinking is important. now - no other writer on the occult says this so simply and explicitly. there is an emphasis on what is universal to every human. and I was very surprised in a good way to find that he knew and related to the arts, poetry and philosophers like Nietzsche. to freedom and life affirming attitudes.

Steiner said we had a physical body, an etheric body -which is our life force, a consciousness- what I think this lady is calling the soul, and the "I" the ego which separates us from the cosmos. The Catholic church didn't condemn esoterism, because it doesn't want you to internalise spirituality, or progress on the path of mysticism. No. There have been many saints in the Catholic church, who even worked miracles. It is because all these esoteric teachings do not come from Heaven, they come from the Fallen Angels, just like the Veda's and the ancient mysteries do. The Angels are much more intelligent than we are, and they have a lot more knowledge about nature, the stars, history etc. They only use this knowledge to deceive us, and this is what the Church wants to protect you from. I see a picture of Mary holding the Child Jesus in her arms, I wonder, has this lady ever tried to pray the rosary with her heart. Try it, and see what happens.

We have to remember that he was speaking a hundred years ago, that he had to find ways to explain things to the people in front of him and that we English speakers read him in translation. That quote may show foresight but I'd want to explore it. Vaccines may make it harder to use our bodies and minds in the way they would otherwise function but, personally, I don't think that has to separate people who have chosen vaccination for any reason, or who have even been coerced into having shots, from lives in connection with their spirituality. I hope that helps

I chewed over the racist thing. Firstly, Steiner was speaking and writing in quite a different time to people living in very different circumstances. I don't think all that reduces his credibility any more than certain parts of the Bible don't seem to 'fit' modern viewpoints and attitudes. We can read for the essence. Most people speaking on almost countless occasions over many years would offer seemingly contradictory thoughts and images. there is much of importance to miss if we spend all our time looking for fleas. Secondly, my reading is that, as a broad generalisation, he describes the different races as having different foci - heart centred, intellect-centred and will-centred. Intelligence varies in those three variants. I've not thought through how much of that is cultural and how much genetic, especially as over time those factors, nature and nurture, genetics and epigenetics, are intertwined. Being of African descent is likely to play out differently if you are of African descent born and raised in London or in Kenya. Given that he also speaks of repeated incarnations anyway, it doesn't seem to be much of an issue - doesn't that imply/suggest we incarnate in different lands and cultures?
@19battlehill2 жыл бұрын
I never thought of Steiner as a racist -- this is what evil tried to label him as, so they could stop his message. All Humans develop Consciousness and different humans evolved at different levels and some cultures are ahead of others in developing consciousness than others. American Indians still had tribal type of consciousness where Europeans had more of an individual consciousness ---- this is not racist it is just stating the fact.
