I wouldn't make much of Jordan Hawkins struggling in Summer League as it's the most inefficient, reckless kind of ball you're going to see. Guards and wings are gonna stat pad and chucks shots to try and earn roster spots.

He’s a bad ball handler and is turnover prone. If it shows now it will be ugly in the regular season.
@Jsimm1003 ай бұрын
@@jamessmith-hs7if Maybe so. But, Summer League isn't a real indication of what a player can and cannot do when systems are not really being implemented, guys are jacking up shots, playing bad basketball in general. It's moreso a look into a players "potential" than "production". Regular Season is for "production". We need Jordan for his shooting and that alone is enough. He showed in the regular season he can shoot. Ball handling, etc. can be worked on. This will be his second season!
@sancho05493 ай бұрын
No, he might be the 3rd or 4th option during the regular season. Summer league almost never translates to how the player will play in the regular season. He's got all eyes on him right now when he has the ball, but regular season the defense will be watching Zion, murray, BI, CJ. Hawkins will be fine
@Jsimm1003 ай бұрын
@@sancho0549 He might not even play much like last season his coach is Willie Green who values Defense over Offense. Jordan Hawkins won't be the focal point of this team, he'll come off the bench and provide scoring when need be. THAT'S IT, THAT'S ALL! You can't take much from Summer League because it's nothing more than a AAU or scrimmage type setting. Guys are playing to land contracts so taking bad shots, less focus on passing and Defense go out the window.

Pelicans are desperate for a 5 & BI & his agent are standing in the way of that acquisition. Seems only Brandon & his agent doesn't understand his true worth. Signing a 2 year extension for $40 Mill a year would allow a team trading for him 3 years to determine how much his value really is. The trade would give the Pels a legit NBA 5 or enough assets to make another trade to acquire one. David Griffin does not have to "win" this one like the Murray trade, just help build an even competitive roster. Having BI on the opening day roster would be a disaster & this is coming from a fan of Ingram.
