The jacket You are wearing is nirvik (or a winter jacket) which makes it difficult to ride in hot weather. One should get a full mesh jacket with level 2 armours, and they also cost less. They will be 100 times better. You can always add layers later on to protect yourself from the cold. Rynox and solace are some of the brands one can try. Also made in india. 2. Never tell strangers that you are travelling alone, even if you are. Enjoy the ride ❤

Thank you for this video. I thought you might be interested in how your videos affect this viewer. My mother was buried in Ludhiana at the cemetery next to the Christian Hospital back in October, 1955. We went to school at Woodstock up in the mountains. I remember the heat & dirt of "the plains" (Dhamtari) and the beauty of the mountains. Every video you show of life in India brings back memories for me.

@udayshome17938 ай бұрын
1. Get a cooling vest 2. Start riding a little past midnight, when the traffic is less and so is the heat. 3. Get auxiliary lights for the motorcycle for night riding on the highways. Fix them to your forks, so that they turn with the front wheel and light up the direction you're about to go. Cover them when in the urban areas to avoid getting a fine from cops. 4. Get a bike with tubeless tires, even if it is not an adventure bike.

An option to avoid the hot Delhi weather this time of the year and also avoid the heavy traffic/highways and pollution around Delhi is to either 1: If flying in from abroad then you can fly from Delhi airport to Dehradun and rent a bike there or in Rishikesh nearby. From there ride further north to Shimla, Manali or other cooler higher elevation areas north of Rishikesh Option 2: Take a bus from Delhi to Manali and rent a bike there. Manali probably have one of the best selections of bikes in India with very competitive rental rates compared to other regions of India. You will encounter lots of traffic if you ride out of Delhi....as per my personal experience best to be avoided for people flying in from abroad.

I used to ride in the 80’s in India including Kashmir and Ladakh. For summers I always put on a light windcheater to prevent dehydration. This was not so necessary in humid climates but very necessary in the dry heat of the north. We did not have riding gear then. Except helmet (full face) and gloves I got from abroad. I also had a sailing suit which was the best rain gear as Velcro closed all areas where water could get in. At speeds above 80 water would not stay on the visor and I had a clear view. I adjusted my windscreen to blow the air direct at visor.

Riding a classic RE 350 reborn in Bengaluru, and you are spot on, the riders have no malice though they are not aware of many riding best practices - annoying for couple of days but then soon you get a hang of it. My tips are ride slow, even if the road is empty, ignore imperfection, keep moving and respect police, you can never be too cautious , wear proper riding gear. If not sure, try and find out about weekend riding clubs and you can get good tips from them as well. One particular tip is I wear quick drying (Sports type) fabric under the riding gear to aid the evaporation and to keep me cool.

Hey Karl - this is not a motorway. You are riding on National Highway 44 with a lower speed limit. Motorways are called expressways in India’s but 2 and 3 wheelers are not allowed on it. The speed limit is higher at 120 kmph (75 mph) on expressways. So you can really zoom on those.

I had parcelled my bike to Kerala from Vadodara last year, though bike had nearly no damage (only front number plate got bent & it's cover was broked) but Booking the bike in Vadodara was a pain. The person providing the covering service was at ground floor and the parcel office at 1st floor. First you have to empty the petrol tank and take the bike at 1st floor (empty tank) then once the officer sees that no petrol is there then you will have to take the bike again at ground floor and pack it. Then after packing again you have to take the bike at 1st floor and weigh the bike in front of the officer and then take it to the station. Felt bad that all arrangements could had made at 1st floor it's hard to climb the bike twice at 1st floor due to their wrong arrangements !

Hi Karl, can get a photographer/adventure type nylon half jacket/ vest or get one tailored out of denim with additional inner pockets made to slip in your back and chest guards . You can wear separate elbow+arm guards and knee+shin guards. This way you can wear regular lighter tshirts n pants...with detachable protective gear{easily available) - keeps you much cooler and feeling free...can always put on over or under -a thick shirt , warm hoodie, full jacket , rain poncho etc when needed ....also hip and bum scrape guards in your pockets from old tyres or mobile phone cases , cricket ball guards and football shin guards are cheap jugaad xtra protection ..

The best place to use toilets is in those good-looking eateries. Worst case scenario, if there's an emergency, the toilets in the petrol stations are also "ok", but try to avoid the toilets after toll plazas, they're generally not maintained or cleaned at all. Road trips in India require a bit of planning but they're totally worth it.

Avoid drinking if you have a day of riding the next dy. Take ample breaks and stretch yourself. Don't ride past sunset. I make it a point to not ride after sunset as much as I can.
