purification is the 5 precepts. Buddhism is practice the precepts or vow if you get the 5 precepts right, everything should be right. Sheng yen sifu said. if it is going to happen , worry or fear is useless., you fear is going to happen, not fear it is going to happen. you have no control of the reality of world or karma. so there is no point of fearful or worry about what is next. fear, worry, anxitey, complain, regret, pity etc do not help you. so there is no point of worry or fear. even it happens , so what, there is nothing to worry or wrong with it. if you study buddhism, death and a live is not different. because you are not alive and no death.. you out out of all these delusions or concept. you are out of these samsarea mind set. fear is going to happen, not fear is going to happen.. so what is the point of worrying. ONly foolishness and wasting time, analysing and creating useless story.. enjoy a peace ful life.. aka a happy life. amitabha or amitoufo buddha

I just listened to what he said twice, he actually said: “Buddha has never claimed that the karma has never existed before him..” The pause in between the sentence broke the sentence into 2, I think that why it sounded like he said Buddha claimed to have said karma didn’t exist before him.

Like all other religions ( Buddhism is an education) they scare you to conform, Buddhism is no different and admits to this in the deeper teachings. Karma is not real!
