This shouldn't even be a discussion. Karma absolutely slaps Curse Mark. No matter what you say, Karma has many benefits that are similar to Curse Mark and other benefits that even Curse Mark doesn't have. First of all, you inherit everything from experience, strength, chakra, and even bloodline from Karma. Second, once you have enough Chakra, you can become a Sage on your own which means you don't need Curse Seal to use Senjutsu Chakra. I would choose Karma because there is a way to kill the Otsutsuki without killing the Host while inheriting everything. Curse Seal is too low level compared to that.

But, if you are not Sasuke who has a good brother who can seal Orochimaru for you, then, you are simply going to be another Vessel. The risks are similar but the benefits are massively different. Just like how it is possible to solve Curse Seal, we can do our best to find a way to solve Otsutsuki inside the Karma. I have a theory for this, just a theory.

@@Kidomaki This is just a theory. Boruto is one hundred percent Otsutsuki but he is not 100% Momoshiki because Momoshiki used 15% of Karma to heal Boruto from a deadly wound. This made him one hundred percent Otsutsuki but it also made sure that Momoshiki couldn't directly take over Boruto's body. So, what kind of form is Momoshiki in? Is he just another consciousness or is he another soul inside Boruto? I think it is the latter because eighty-five percent of Momoshiki was already transferred into Boruto's body which also included his soul. Since he is a soul living inside Boruto, can't we kill him? Yes, it is hard to kill someone's soul but it is possible to fight them, especially for Jinchuriki. Because they can tap into the deepest level of the subconscious where souls of the deceased like Hagamoro or souls of the living like Naruto/Kurama could talk. So, the real problem is can Boruto kill Momoshiki? Or, we can seal him? Remember, Itachi couldn't enter this level of consciousness so he needed to draw out Orochimaru to seal him. But, by making Sasuke Jinchuriki a friendly beast, it is possible to enter the subconscious and kill Orochimaru's soul. Anyway, this is just a theory of mine. So, what do you think? If it is possible to kill an Otsutsuki like this, would you take the risk of having a Karma Seal? Because I would.

Given that Boruto could combat Code on equal footing with his true essence, not to mention a full transformation which is an entirely different tier. I would prefer Karma. I would embark on a quest for Uzumaki scrolls, begin a relationship with Tsunade, and research the Yin Seal to gather all the information possible to devise a method to halt the entire takeover ordeal. My choice would invariably be Karma.

The Karma is way more dangerous. Boruto has a time bomb in him ready to take his body and destroy the world. It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll befriend momoshiki or somehow get rid of him. But my guess is boruto can use his jogan to rid himself of momoshiki.

I wish they bought the concept of the curse mark back. It just feels like a waste not to include in the series since is so similar to the Karma which is a key concept of the series - especially since Sasuke stopped using it midway through shippuden. Since it was compatible with Sasuke, Sarada should have trained with Orochimaru and gotten it to differentiate from Boruto/kawaki's karma and Mitsuki's sage mode.

Oh, I did say the version 2 state amps the phsical attributes for all of them, just that not all of them might receive a 10X amp. This isn't confirmed or anything but judging the increase in Sasuke's strenght between forms vs deidara it didn't seem that way. Them you have sakon saying he received a ten time chakra buff. More less cursed mark is really close to what karma does . I mean Orochimaru had ton of time to improve it and make it into karma counter. Its based on Jugos' curse so its pulling natural chakra and is imbuded with snake sage chakra that is why Kabuto was collecting them. And Orochimaru was simply sealing part of himself the mark had no direct link to body takeover it was separate jutsu with ritual it was shown in anime.. The marking was less insurance for tracking . The spread of Mark mainly the use of its powers like Karma and 100 seals, and when someone used full power, they would transform like Jugo without going berserk. And as we all know naturall chakra and taijutsu are perfect counters for Otsutki. Wich again points to cursed to be more handy in future transformation gets you ability boost and natural chakra . Place it on someone like Sarada or Trashamaru and you have a monster.

Yea no sage mode is good against the ten tails not Otsutsuki as a whole, Momoshiki, Kinshiki and Isshiki where not scared of sage chakra or weak to it in anyway nor is Boruto now as seen by him no diffing Full bloodlusted Sage mode Mitsuki. The difference in power is is like comparing a glass of water to the ocean. The curse seal gives you a lesser version of Jugos power, the karma gives you the full power of a Otsutsuki which is a massive difference. Karma gives you chakra absorption, Spacetime abilities, Dojutsu and more battle IQ. The curse mark doesnt even come close.

It more intrigues me that these cursed marks have appeared pretty early on and they have too many similarities with karma. Mostlikely Orochimaru used 100 seals as Base for storing chakra and added Jugos ability to naturally pull in nature energy. And it seems cursed mark tinkers with dna like karma. Next would be if Orochimaru was aware of karma before I mean he searched many forbidden and lost scrolls. Sometimes I find some plot convince like Boruto gets karma and genius Sasuke does not bring him to Orochimaru who could analyse or have some insight. And dunno why ppl diss sage chakra when toads taught it to Hagoromo solely to defeat Kaguya and remember that when Urashiki saw Mitsuki enter Snake sage he said that is problematic and stole his chakra with fishing rod. And next when obito took 10 tails into him he was vulnerable to senjutsu. So if its not effective against Otsutski it should be superefective against Shinju.

Momoshiki and Jigen and Isshiki had 0 problems with nature energy, Mitsuki literally gets a nature energy cloak in his sage mode and Boruto literally no diffed him in base mode and he is 100% Otsutsuki. The Otsutsuki has zero problems with nature energy, none. Did you see Boruto stress when he saw someone literally cloaked in nature energy? Did you see Momoshiki, Jigen or Isshiki fear Narutos sage mode for a second?

Can someone answer this question. It’s been bugging me. In the first Chapter of Boruto, when Kawaki and Boruto are about to fight. Kawaki has Karma activated but does not seem to be in possession of Isshiki’s dojutsu…Boruto activates his jougan…Kawaki doesn’t seem to be in possession of his dojutsu! But his Karma is activated as so is Boruto… What do you think is the reason for why Kawaki has his Karma activated but his dojutsu isn’t?!

Me too man I will take a regular black karma any day over a curse mark and the good thing is about it is if you die before the otsutsuki has a chance to resurrect in your body then it cannot do that because it just use its remaining data to replenish your own body in the first place but the otsutsuki will still take over your body but if you manage to befriend it then you can basically work together with it to gain the benefits of it even as far to have a otsutsuki that is not willing to destroy planets or sucking the life out of them but more like to preserve them as much as possible by achieving symbiosis through karma as a human host just like the symbiotes from marvel because they want to preserve and protect their host as much as possible and thus both can benefit from each other unlike parasitism what's the parasite is willing to not care for the host's well-being or the concern of others

You're screwed either way tbh. With the karma, you can try to find a suitable vessel for yourself and implant your own karma so you will eventually resurrect while with the curse mark, you need to find someone capable of sealing it for you. I don't mind either but I guess the curse mark is the safer option since the chances of stopping it are higher.

That's my thought process as well. The power amp by the curse mark is enough in the real world with the higher chance of survival. You can also acquire more power in other ways later on. Karma neg diffs orocimaru curse mark. I would rather have the ability to fly absorb any jutsu and have broken outsutski abilities before i die, instead of having a ugly transformation with a underwhelming power amp/abilities. Curse mark is a bootleg version of the karma. Boruto base form is also way stronger than a regular human, with a bigger chakra pool being 100% outsutski since he did giant rasengan vs kawaki on ch78. Kakashi said that was impossible for him before his karma awaken to change his dna.
