07:00 "A class full of trained assassins..." Nope. A class full of assassins-in-training. Important nuance. That said, they are probably more dangerous than the average delinquent already, but not necessarily in a direct confrontation. Assassination is not like fighting MMA-style.

Yep, you're exactly right. I think Luke was thinking they were already training for half a year if not a full year at that point ("They've beentraining for how long?" with a body language and a voice only showing disbelief) when at that point, I think they weren't eventrained for 2 full month. If I remember correctly, they are still in the first month of their training. It is litteraly impossible, no matter how good a teacher you are, to fully train anyone in any discipline in that small amount of time. Sure, there's the suspension of disbelief that could take part in it, but I don't think anyone would be able to believe anything that drastic in that context. In a way, we could evensay you are kind of wrong, theystill aren't assassins-in-training as they haven't reached the necessary basic level for even that at that time. They are still too green, without the necessary know-how for multiple disciplines (especialy melee combat, they are better than untrained people, but not by that much at that moment) or self-confidence.

Luke, TBF they just had their 1st Term midterms, so at best they only had 2 months of training. They're no way close to being "trained" assassins.
@dergrossekaiser10 күн бұрын
remember, that they just started to train to be assasins. Also there is a difference between a assasin and a martial-arts fighter.
@willm77210 күн бұрын
Their training focuses largely on fire arms as that is most likely to succeed. Also, their training does not involve self-defense, as Korosensei does not attack them. Not to mention, they have only been training for a few weeks and they are about 4 years younger, AND Karma was distracted trying to protect others who got the jump on them, an advantage they are used to possessing, I think the out come is obvious. Not to mention being extremely outnumbered.

Right, and at this point they weren't really that serious in training yet, I think it was when Itona entered the classroom that they trained really hard

These kids are being trained for surprise attacks, they don't have the strength for prolonged fights and hand-to-hand combat.

Funnily enough, high-school gangs are hardcore in Japan, they are called banchou if they were boys, sukeban if they were girls and bousouzoku if it was a bike gang. It used to be a very bad situation, especially in the 70's to 80's but has since diminished a lot although the culture of violence still remains in admittedly very few numbers.

Specifically, they are being trained to attack a target that isn't willing to hurt them - and rather heavily in knife fighting technique, which doesn't work as well when you don't have a knife handy to stab people with. And realistically, not all of the adult, professional assassins seen in this show would have chosen to fight back either in that situation when it was clear they'd be left alive to pick a better opportunity.

Just a detail about this and the next episode: Those two episodes take place basically at the same time, the reason why Korosensei was so late to appear in this first part is because of the events of the second part.

Trained assassins aren't supposed to fight head on, that is why they use "assassination technique" This is like the misconception of a ninja can fight an army, no they can't. Their job is to collect data and/or sabotage and run back home, fighting head on is the last thing that they should do

1. Remember these are only middle school students.(6-8th grade) 2. They are only trainees, in the first weeks of the "special Curriculum".

I think this episode as just a little vignette, the class going on an adventure and give more focus to one student that hasn't gotten any before. Breaks up the story of trying to assassinate Korosensei and dealing with the school drama to make sure the show doesn't get too monotonous, plus it helps us remember the students when shit starts to hit the fan

9:30 It's a Jack (or Sap), a leather bag filled with lead shot. 18:50 The high-school gangs are more publicly violent than the Yakuza because they're trying to make a name for themselves rather than trying to fly under the radar. Some go on to join them. Carrying weapons would be normal for them. They tend to have distinctive styles for each gang.

16:20 I now realize how glad I am to have been able to watch it with french dub, usually for example Koro Sensei's voice in the french dub is way more expressive than (imo) the japanese dub, and did a better job a making the viewer know what kind of emotion he felt (and that's the same for the other characters, I think for that one, the french dubs nailed it)
@vianneyb.877610 күн бұрын
I might need to watch the French dub as well. I only know the Japanese and the English dub (both of which I like), and this anime is definitely one of my favorites, so I wouldn't mind watching it again.
