I reunited with my high school sweet heart after about 20 years, we dated for about a year, got engaged, and married fairly quickly becaus his mom was sick and he wanted her to witness our marriage. She did pass shortly after. After marriage, he changed. I didn't even realize I was in an emotionally abusive relationship until I left after 3 years...out of sheer and utter exhaustion.
